These cars don't come around very often any more!Listed for sale is a REAL DOCUMENTED, SUPER SPORT
This car has been a drag car since 1982. It has been inside ever since. Previous owner stated it has not been painted while in his care. However it has been painted prior to 82. They stopped racing the car in 2006 and he began to put it back on the street. The racing engine was removed and sold as well as the converter. Also the rear end was rebuilt with a new posi unit and 410 gears instead of the 488's. A injury stopped work on the car and it sat for quite a while until he realized he would not be able to finish it.
Engine is a replacement (crate) purchased for a parts store. It is a 854 block with a 71 date. Large oval port heads. He installed a larger Summit camshaft big enough to give it some chop at idle. (Factory spec cam included also)Everything on the engine is new-pistons-crank-oil pump-aftermarket studs for heads-starter- alternator-water pump-intake-carb-valve covers-distributor-wires-power steering pump-brackets and pulleys-radiator and shroud-headers and mufflers. You get the idea. It has maybe about 5 minutes of run time on it. I have yet to set the timing. It has almost 70 pounds of oil pressure at idle.
Trans is the original turbo 400 with the vin stamped on it. It was described as well build and fresh with a lot of good parts. The new converter is rated around 2500 rpm.
Rear end is the original with the correct CCF stamp. Previous owner stated he had it rebuilt with a new Eaton posi unit and 410 gears. All new brakes on back.
Wheels and tires are brand new chrome torque thrust with Master craft tires. If you do not like the wheel tire combo I will buy them back for $900. I pretty sure I can find some rollers to install to get it on a trailer.
Body on this car is very nice, the doors sound like a frig door closing. The floors are in excellent shape. A roll bar was cut out by me and evidence of the bars are under the new carpet. The rear quarter lips have been turned under to allow for bigger tires. The hood was sold a long time ago and I purchased a aftermarket one for it along with all the cowl induction stuff yo make the door open and close. Multiple holes drilled in trunk for battery, fuel systems ect. Patch panel included in sale.
Interior- New carpet,seat covers, carpet sill plates, console dial= Dash pad is in extremelygood shape and looks as to never been removed. The dash is also very nice except the radio holes have been trimmed. I have replaced the burned out bulbs in the dash except the one by the light switch as the dash pad needs to be removed to reach it.
What works- headlights, dash lights, brake lights, turn signals, console lights, dome light, key buzzer, back up lights, wipers(no blades), heater blower motor(switch is out on high) windows roll up and down nice, dash lights turn on as they should when engine is being turned over to start. License plate light is out, as I did not have the correct bulb.

New parts not yet installed- Wheel moldings-SS grill-SS fender-396 fender-Chevelle trunk emblems-door weatherstrips-roof weatherstrips-window fuzzies-trunk weatherstrip-cowl weatherstrip-a arm shields-quarter window gaskets-bumper kit-window washer bottle-outside door handles-package tray-trunk divider board-headliner(original is in great shape except for one mouse hole) tachometer to replace clock-rear SS bumper pad- Factory style hood pin kit-seat belt console holders-cowl screens- trunk mat-center section trunk pan-
We all know that documentation adds a ton of value to the car and the fact that is car has a solid body and thousands of dollars alreadyspent on it makes this car a winner. Like I started this add they don't come around like this anymore.
I live one hour north of Indy. Your personal inspection is welcome I have a lift. Please feel free to call me at 765 206 0350. Delivery maybe available up to 250 miles one way, but you must call first. Personal guarantee- If you inspect the car at my home within 7 days and you don't like it for any reason I will refund $300 of you $400 dollar deposit to you in cash right then and there. Car also has a new 4 core radiator and you may also have what I think is the original radiator also. I am going to try to bleed the brakes today and try to did some video if it running down the road.As for the vinyl top, I can not find any rust, The cloth has come loose very so slightly at the lower corners. If I get time I will make another video of the top.

Again this car is solid- I can not find rust under top. Ran my hands over it, its smooth and hard under the cloth.

Here is what I found

engine pulls strong and clean--

pitman arm is leaking ordered a new seal from Autozone will try to correct soon.

Brakes are mushy -still have air in lines will try to bleed tomorrow.

To answer some questions- the cloth top is in good shape no signs of rust underneath it. Sorry no trades. The car needs paint and some odds and ends and it will be a nice driver. Everything works except the bulbs listed and the high on the blower motor.
