All Original Classic chevy 1967
1967 Chevrolet El Camino Description
Today I have for my 1967 Chevy El Camino. I purchased this car from an older gentlemen in Georgia who was the owner for many years. He owned a nice car collection and he told me that he drove it for years but as he got older didn’t have the time to take care of all of his cars like he wanted. Unfortunately this was one of his cars that sat outside in the elements for years and as a result has some rust damage. He sold it to me reluctantly but he knew that it could not survive much longer sitting outside. The car has its original drive train which is a 283 with a powergilde transmission. I purchased the car as a project for myself but have not had any time to devote to it because I had a newborn son as well as other projects that need to be finished. The car runs and drives but we didn’t hook up the fuel lines because it has been sitting for so long. We have only drove it around the yard hooked to a gas jug. I would love to fix it up myself but am willing to sell to someone who is interested. I like for buyers to know as much as I know about a car I am selling so here is the good and bad that I have noticed on this El Camino.
The bad
- The Car has rust behind the rear window and on the floors behind the seats
- It will need a new hood and rear bumper
- Has some rust coming through on the body
- Will require bodywork
- Drivers side window is off track
- Will need fuel line connected to drive
- Currently the passenger door will not open but I am working on it
The Good
- All original engine and drivetrain showing a little over 68k on the speedometer
- Engine runs great
- can drive while you restore
- Interior is all there and original
- Most of the trim is still there
- Dual exhaust
- Front bumper in great shape
- Bed floor is solid
- Engine has not been tampered with at all
- staggered rally wheels
- All of the glass is there
- Very popular body style
- Will be very valuable when restored
The car is currently on my family property in Kellyton Alabama. I have it covered as best that I can to keep the inside from getting any further damage. This would be a great father son project for the Winter to get it ready for Spring car shows. The car is great for a person whose parents may have owned one back in the day. Or someone who may have owned one or wanted one back in highschool . This is also a great foundation for a LS swap or maybe a race/track car. This car is one that you can restore while you drive as it would not take much at all to make it road worthy. These cars are valuable and continue to go up in value daily. A fully restored one can sell for at least 25k or better. With the car being all original and running I feel that price is fair. I don’t need to sell but price is somewhat negotiable. If you are interested please feel free to give me a call atshow contact info.
Willing to ship at buyers expense.
