1970 Chevrolet Nova SS Description

HERE IS SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERY DAY! THIS IS A 1970 CHEVROLET NOVA SS THAT HAS BEEN VIRTUALLY UNTOUCHED SINCE THE LATE '70s. THIS WAS A SHOW CAR BACK IN THE MID TO LATE '70s. THE ORIGINAL OWNER MODIFIED THE CAR AND HAD IT CUSTOM PAINTED IN 1974. HE WAS A CLUB MEMBER IN THE INDIANAPOLIS STREET MACHINE CLUB AND HELPED ORGANIZE THE FIRST CAR CRAFT STREET MACHINE NATIONALS HELD IN INDIANAPOLIS IN 1976 OR 77. THIS CAR WAS FEATURED ALONG WITH TWO OTHER CLUB MEMBER'S CARS IN CAR CRAFT MAGAZINE'S CHEVROLET HIGH PERFORMANCE ISSUE IN 1977. THE CAR WAS LAST REGISTERED IN INDY IN 1979/80 AND THEN IT WAS PUT INTO DRY STORAGE UP ON BLOCKS. IT REMAINED THERE FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS BEFORE BEING RESCUED LAST YEAR! GREAT ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO PRESERVE THIS TIME CAPSULE! THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS GONE THROUGH ( I STILL HAVE THE DUAL HOLLEY CARBS THAT WERE ON IT), THE BRAKES, CHARGING SYSTEM, RADIATOR, ETC. THE CAR IS NOW VERY DRIVEABLE BUT STILL VERY, VERY WELL PRESERVED. EVEN THE GOODYEAR POLYGLAS GT TIRES THAT HAVE BEEN ON THE CAR SINCE CIRCA 1977 STILL REMAIN! IT IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS IS A REAL SS, FACTORY 4 SPEED CAR! HOW MANY UNTOUCHED DAY TWO MUSCLE CARS ARE LEFT FROM THAT ERA? THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A VERY UNIQUE AND COLLECTIBLE PIECE OF AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY. HERE ARE SOME DETAILS ABOUT THIS SUPER COOL NOVA,

THE BODY ON THIS CAR IS VERY NEAR PERFECT. IT IS SUPER, SUPER STRAIGHT AND SUPER SOLID WITH NO RUST ISSUES. THERE ARE NO FLOOR PATCHES, OR ANY OTHER SIGNS OF THIS EVER BEING A RUSTY CAR. IT WAS USED VERY LITTLE (32K MILES) IN THE FIRST 10 YEARS OF ITS LIFE AND IT SHOWS!. THE FLOORPAN, SUB FRAME, ROCKERS, INNER FENDERS, TRUNK PAN, ETC. ARE ALL SUPER, SUPER SOLID. THE BODY LINES ARE GOOD AND THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE VERY WELL. THERE DOESN'T EVEN APPEAR TO BE MUCH IF ANY UNDERCOATING UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND THE TRUNK SPATTER PAINT LOOKS TO BE ORIGINAL! ALL THE GLASS AND TRIM APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL AS WELL. THE CUSTOM PAINT WORK IS 45-46 YEARS OLD BUT STILL LOOKS VERY PRESENTABLE! THERE ARE FLAWS UPON CLOSE INSPECTION AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM SOMETHING THIS OLD BUT THE CAR LOOKS VERY SHARP AND GETS TWICE AS MUCH ATTENTION AS ANY "OVER RESTORED MUSCLE CAR" SEEN AT MANY SHOWS TODAY. THERE ARE NO DISCERNABLE DENTS OR DINGS AND YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT HOW STRAIGHT THE BODY IS ON THIS NOVA! THE PAINT UPON CLOSE INSPECTION DOES HAVE CHECKING/CRACKING AND IMPERFECTIONS FROM AGE. THE INTERIOR IS EXCELLENT. EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL EXCEPT THE FRONT BUCKET SEATS AND POSSIBLY THE CARPET. THE DASH IS BEAUTIFUL AS ARE THE DOOR PANELS, HEADLINER, SUNVISORS, GAUGE CLUSTER, ETC. THE INTEIOR DOME LIGHT STILL WORKS AS DOES THE DOOR BUZZER! ALL THE LIGHTS, GAUGES, WIPERS, TURN SIGNALS, ETC. STILL WORK. THE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN AS THEY SHOULD AND THE HEAT SEEMS TO WORK AS WELL.
MECHANICALLY, THE CAR HAS BEEN CAREFULLY MADE TO RUN AND DRIVE AS IT DID BACK IN THE MID '70s. IT HAS BEEN SUPER RELIABLE AND EVEN THE OLD TIRES RIDE VERY WELL ON THE ROAD. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT AND STOPS VERY WELL. THE MOTOR SOUNDS REALLY STRONG AND DOES NOT RUN HOT, SMOKE, KNOCK, ETC. THE CARBS IDLE WELL ONCE THE ENGINE IS WARMED UP AND THE CAM AND EXHAUST MAKE THE CAR SOUND SUPER COOL! THIS CAR DRAWS A CROWD EVERYWHERE IT GOES. I WOULD CHALLENGE YOU TO FIND ANOTHER DAY TWO CAR FROM THIS ERA LIKE THIS, BUT YOU WON'T. IF YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT, HERE IT IS.
