1969Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport Convertible
This is an original code 72 Monaco orange car built in the Baltimore plant late June of 1969 and sold in Chapel Hill North Carolina at Harris Connors Chevrolet in July of 1969. This car was on the lot as part of a pair of Monaco orange Chevelle's as the other was the exact same car butin a hardtop. I purchased this car from the original owner last year and have paperwork dating back to 1970 from the same dealer he purchased it from then later on moving to Connecticut. The car unfortunately lost its original 396 engine at 12000 miles due to a broken crankshaft and replaced at the same dealer with a replacement 396 engine. Later approaching 85000 miles that motor also had a problem and was replaced with a mid 70's 454 with a set of "049" heads and a mild cam, at that time the transmission was replaced with a late 66 Muncie M20 transmission also. This car was also an original 4 speed car from the factory. The car has a power convertible top that works with a little push from the frontalthough the middle rib must've came out or one of the pins broke, I have the pin and rib. it also has tilt wheel, power disc brakes, power steering, front and rear sway bar, headers and a 3 chamber flowmaster exhaust. The car has a "CI" code 12 bolt rear with 3:73 gears, only made fora 350/375 HP car only! It has the original double fuel line which means it came with a Quadrajet carb hence only to be a 350HP engine. This means it would be 1 of 422 produced with that engine, less being a 4 speed and less being a Monaco orange car. I'd only assume to be a handful made and less in existence to this day. It's a very hard to find car in this combination plus being a one owner car before me. This car was restored 25 years so she's showing her age plus it wasn't the best of bodywork done at that time. The interior and top also done around that time as the headrest's went missing. I have the convertible top boot that's in nice shape as shown in the picture. But again, she's showing her age and looks better in pictures, hence..some cracking, chips, bubbles, small staining on the topand a small hole on the passenger door. Trunk floor is in nice shape and there's some work done to the drivers floor, all amateur work in my opinion but it still runs and drives nice, everything works decently minus the radio. I like to think I covered everything butfor more information and picturesplease call 203-415-8589, thanks.
