1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Description

Genuine SS big block, verified with original build sheet. Exceptionally nice ground up restoration. Has a folder stuffed with receipts.
EXTERIOR: I am very impressed with the fit and finish of this car. Repainted it's factory color- antique green. I guarantee it never looked this good when it left the factory. The clear coat finish is polished out like glass, you can't feel the stripes. It's like looking into the mirror. Jambs are painted real nice. The body panels fit real square and flush. Every panel is straight, along the bottoms are smooth. It has a genuine cowl induction hood that works. No ugly vinyl top. The trim looks new. Up front the grill, headlight bezels, marker light lenses and bezels, bumper are sparkling. New hood pins, emblems, wheel well moldings, door handles. All new polished stainless trim around the windows. In back it has new bumper and tail light lenses. All new glass. Windows roll up and down easily. New weatherstrips and window seals. Big chrome Coys wheels give it some bling. 17s in front, 18s in back. This car shows really well- glossy paint, bright trim, crystal clear glass.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car and I'm impressed. I'm looking at a beautiful dash. Has the factory gauge package. gauges are all new, clock is working. The heater controls, vents, dash pad are nice. The interior was gutted, sound deadener was installed and everything was restored. Overhead the mirror, visors and headliner look new. Has shoulder belts. New cushions, upholstery, seat backs and trim. Also new door panels, armrests, window cranks and handles. New carpet. It has the factory center console with the horseshoe shifter.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original motor, in 1971 the 396 was increased to a 402. Has correct casting codes. Completely remachined and balanced, has receipt and photos. New pistons, lifters, rockers, billet timing set, Comp cam. New HEI ignition and Comp headers. Upgraded with an Edelbrock intake, carb, headers and HEI ignition. All the components look new- the wiper motor, cadmium plated brake booster, master cylinder, washer bottle, fan shroud, battery, fuel pump, alternator etc. Everything's very neat, tidy and painted real nice. A good looking motor compartment.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk floor is super clean metal. I looked up in there with a flashlight, the quarter panels look original. It's been sprayed a gray spatter finish paint. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are glossy. The factory seams and spotwelds are clean. New weatherstrip and decal.
UNDERSIDE: Exceptionally clean under this car. Floors, rockers, lower inner 1/4s are clean. Original smooth metal was cleaned and treated with Por15 to make it look nice and preserve it. It has the F-41 suspension which includes sway bars and boxed control arms. Has new front suspension kit. Everything was replaced- bushings, balljoints, tie rod ends, sway bar end links etc. New springs and shocks front and back. Bottom of the motor is clean, starter looks new. Has rebuilt turbo 400 trans with 2,000 stall and shift kit. 12 bolt rear end has finned cover. Brakes were all redone, disc in front. New lines, hoses, e-brake assembly. Great sounding Flowmaster exhaust system.
I'm going to tell you, I've been around fantastic muscle cars all my life. This car looks and feels right. The motor runs and sounds just right. In, out, top to bottom it's a clean car. I'm sure the next owner will really enjoy this car.
