1988 Corvette Convertible - automatic - Z52 handling package - no reserve
1988 Chevrolet Corvette Description
1988 Corvette Convertible, automatic, power windows, 150k miles, Z52 performance / handling option (Z51 was for coupes), two sets of wheels, well maintained with lots of replaced / restored stuff.
This is my first time listing a car on e-bay. I am a long time member, and have bought and sold many items, including buying at least 5 cars. I bought this Vette on ebay about 10 years ago with 140k miles. Please e-mail with any questions, This car is sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Please read the full description, and bid only of you are serious. The listing price is my bottom line - no offers, please. The vehicle must be picked up and you will need another vehicle to carry the extra wheels and parts.
Here's the new / rebuilt stuff over the years (in somewhat chronological order):-> Heavy duty rebuilt transmission (the original transmission overheated on my way home from the purchase)-> New exhaust and oxygen sensors (the reason the transmission overheated was an exhaust leak)-> New convertible top (in the pics, the rear latches are open - that's why they appear loose)-> Newer tires (see pic)-> Lowering kit (3/4 inch - speed bumps are a no no)-> New plugs and wires, tuneup, K&N filter, and alignment-> Outer door seals-> Rebuilt dash and climate control (air conditioning is converted to whatever the new stuff is)-> About two thirds of the car has new paint. Some clear coat wear on the back 1/3 that wasn't painted. New rear bumper.-> New seats from Corvette America (I sent my old seats to them, and they replaced whatever was needed and sent them back). They are excellent.-> Retro sound stereo with new dash speakers. Rear speakers are out. All other Bose stuff comes in the 'parts' box.-> New wheels (original wheels come with it - very serviceable and complete)-> New carpet kit (not installed - working on it)-> All other engine maintenance and parts as needed
Here's the stuff that is not working:-> Gas gauge - Broken when I bought it. I use the trip odometer and log all fuel purchases.-> Horn-> Wipers (they work sometimes - I never drive in the rain)
What it needs:-> Inside door panels-> New carpet installed (hopefully I'll get that done soon)-> Spring oil change and air conditioning check (again, I will get this done soon)
Extras:-> Original 17" wheels-> Box of parts from Bose stereo, new oem valve cover gaskets, nuts bolts, screws, etc.
Final note:This Vette is listed at 245hp - I think that is grossly underrated. Throttle response is excellent and it handles great. It is at home on the interstate doing 75 at 2000 rpm. It runs hot in traffic.
