1959 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description
This truck originally came from Dexter, Missouri and has no body damage or rust. It has been professionally painted and has a new oak bed.
The interior is complete and original with the exception of the seat upholstery which was added in cloth for comfort in every day driving.
The engine is the original 235 cubic inch "Thrift Master" in-line 6 cylinder.
The bore and strike is 3.5625 x 3.973 inches, developed 135 horsepower at 4000 RPM, providing 217 pounds of torque at 2000 RPM.
The engine has been bored .060" oversize and uses 8.25:1 compression ratio, forged aluminum pistons. Chrome - Moly rings were installed.
Hardened valve seats have been employed to allow the use of unleaded fuels. Bronze valve guides were used,
The crankshaft assembly has been dynamically balanced and the following parts have been replaced-
Cam. Lifters, Pushrods, Rockershaft assembly, Timing gears, Oil pump, Clutch, Pressure plate, and Throw out bearing
The transmission is a column shift. 3 speed GM Heavy Duty with synchronized 2nd and 3rd gears.
The differential has a 3.73:1 final drive ratio. All new shocks and springs have been installed.
Never driven in winter since restored.
