You are looking at aVintage 1955 Chevrolet 210 Bel Air 2 door post. It has been used as a show and pro street vehicle, stored for much of it's life with just under 100,000miles. While the car looks like a 210, the VIN number decodes as a Bel Air V8 2 door post car. The vehicle is innice cosmetic condition considering the age. It runs and drives but should be considered a project due to age and probable mechanical and some cosmetic work needed due to long term storage. It is being sold to settle an estate. This vehicle was originally from Florida and then locally owned by the deceased. It is a customized 1955 Chevy used for shows and probably some amateur drag racing in it's day. It is a fun 1960's / 1970's era customization and stored for years. When we received the car, we placed oil down the cylinders and massaged the engine before cranking for safety. We suggest a major tune up, complete carb rebuilds, having the gas drained and maybe tank cleaned. We would also recommend a thermostat, radiator flush, transmission and differential oil changes, and probably other maintenance and reconditioning from age and long term storage. As you can see, the paint is probably a custom Candy Apple red and is not the original color. It was repainted year ago and holding up fairly well but does have some cracks and paint loss in spots. The interior has Camaro buckets that were added years ago. The interior, aside from some imperfections and a slight bit of mouse smell at times, is not bad considering the age. The exterior also looks fairly nice for what it is. We would guess the paint is lacquer but not sure. We drove it down the road as shown and it ran fairly well. It has good oil pressure, and you can tell it has a pretty wild cam. Also, the aftermarket gauges work well, and the exterior lights work. The wipers are disconnected as shown and most interior convenience items do not work. The brakes do stop the car but should be checked as they are old. The vehicle is is in great shape for the age from a rust perspective as well. Usually the frame, floor and rear pan are shot and this one is in great shape or at least far better than others. We do not know how much filler was used when bodywork was done years ago. The car was previously titled in Florida which may explain the lack of rust.
