1985 Chevrolet Other Pickups Silverado 4x4 Description
This 1985 Chevrolet K10 Silverado is really nice 4x4 classic pickup. Nothing too radical, just a beautifully restored and well-maintained Square Body Chevy with a smart-running small block V8, loads of options, and a sharp Apple Red paint job that sticks to the factory recipe. Bottomline, this is simply a lot of 4x4 truck for the money.
You already know we love these trucks around our showroom and we probably sell more of them than just about anyone else. So, it makes sense that when a nice one shows up, everyone kind of takes notice. This pretty driver-quality Apple Red K10 has that rugged, square-jawed look that makes these trucks the latest and greatest collector-value haulers and the finish is really quite good overall. It's not so nice that you'll be afraid to hit the trails with it, but when you get home and hose it off, it'll look good enough to go out to dinner that night. It's not flashy, but if a pickup can be brutishly elegant, this truck nails it. Nice chrome bumpers with big bumper guards up front, a heavy-duty rear bumper, and oversized mirrors make it practical as well as attractive and you can tell just by looking in the spray-in bedliner protected bed that this truck has probably never had to work hard for a living.
The red interior is typical GM no-nonsense, with a wide bench seat, a handsome wrap-around dash, and plenty of creature comforts. There are plush red carpets on the floor protected by "The Heartbeat of America' vinyl mats and we're guessing that's probably the original seat cover in a nice-looking cloth fabric, but it's in great condition and complements the door panels and crack-free dash very nicely. The gauges are also original and monitor all the engine's vitals, all surrounded by a nice-looking brushed stainless bezel. Options include R134a A/C, power windows and locks, a tilt column, and a cool vintage Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo system and all of it is in working order. Heavy-duty floor mats are a welcome site if you plan on heading into the dirt, and with a taut headliner above, the cabin has a very complete look. The transmission shifter is on the column, but as usual, the 4x4 system is actuated by the floor-mounted transfer case shifter, which also works like it should.
For power, this Chevy relies on a tried-and-true 5.0L V8 small block that's believed to be the original block. Rebuilt in 1997, reliability is not compromised and it still starts, idles, and drives like the factory intended. The engine bay is incredibly clean, suggesting that this truck has never really ventured too far off road, and it's been dressed up with black Chevrolet valve covers and a matching factory snorkeled air cleaner. The tough stance underneath is set-up the right way, with tough springs and shocks, and it sits high enough to climb over boulders without hurting anything vital underneath. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, so it's actually reasonable on the highway, and the two-speed transfer case and heavy-duty axles make it invincible in the slippery stuff. A custom dual exhaust system with Thrush mufflers gives the truck a great V8 soundtrack, and those factory Rally wheels with giant 31x10.50-15 white-letter radials look exactly right.
Nothing radical here, just a very nicely finished truck with some smart, well-executed upgrades. If your tastes run more towards playing in the dirt, then this Chevy deserves a closer look. Call today!
