I was contacted by one of the amish that work with our horses about this truck being possiably for sale. It is a one family owned farm truck that has never left the farm in the heart of our amish communities here in Northeast Iowa. I bought it from the grandson who told me his grandfather parked the truck 18 years ago after just rebuilding the engine and using this truck for daily chores in and out of Hazelton Iowa and driving it to and from his farm. After he passed away, the truck sat in the same sheltered storage building on his farm with the intention of the grandson someday resurrecting the truck. He decided he didnt need the truck and may never get to it and he needed the money to help fund his daughters college. I contacted the grandson who told me that the truck never saw the outside elements for the last 18 years and I would be shocked on how the condition of the body held up and the overall patina of the truck. As my pics and video show, THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND RUNNING RARE BARNFIND!

From what we can tell, This truck is ORIGINAL PAINT all the way (royal blue) I rubbed one small spot with wax and it shined great. this is truly a SURVIVOR that in my opinion, had to be left just as I had pulled it out of the barn with the dust and dirt on the floors etc to really show how amazing it is that the truck has survived in the condition it in. I have done nothing to try and clean the truck etc so you can see it just as I had pulled it out of the barn.

I got it back to my shop and had my guys do a complete tune u, check the fluids, go through the brakes, put a new master cylinder on. The truck fired right up (video was the first time we tried to crank her over!) it ran with no knocks smoke or misses. This truck is not road worthy as a daily driver until it has been completely gone through but it has been brought back to where you can start and drive it around while you take it to the level you want. The brakes stop but should be bled as you have to pump it a couple of times to have good pressure. tires look old but hold air.It is still the original 6 volt system and as the video shows, all of the lights, gueges, horn, wipers etc all work. I t has a 216 6 cyl 4 speed. As the video shows, I drove it on a ten mile test drive to video it and it ran and handled great. It steered the way a 3800 chevy truck of this vintage should. It is running off the original gas tank but I would recommend you clean it out befoe using it for long periods etc. It comes with the original wood stake sides for the bed and I was told he would haul livestock to market with it.

The truck is equiped with vintage correct karosine flares with the original red container on the side of the box.It still has the original lock and key and as the video shows, the flares still lit up with the karosine that was still in there. Also included is the original owners manual and documentation/ Chevy manuals etc that came with the truck when it was new.

If you are a lover of patina and appreciate the story of this truck being so original and a survivor, this one is for you!the grandson got a current clean iowa title that matches the vin and all of the documentation. The iowa plate and topper does not go with the sale of the truck as it is part of my collection. I do not want to overcall it or undercall it, be sure to check out the pics and video and call me with questions. 563-568-1182 ted. I can help recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable. I require a 500 non refundable paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the timeframe or before you come for the truck I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I invite you to come by appointment to check it out in person or hire ebay to do a independent inspection for you beofre bidding. Thanks and have fun bidding on this truly original barnfind 1949 Chevy truck!
