Here's a challenge: Name a generation of Chevrolet trucks that can't be transformed into crowd-pleasing head turners with little more than common bolt-on hardware. The answer? There isn't one. From Task Force beauties to venerable S-10s, Chevrolet has spent the last hundred years consistently delivering universally appealing fodder for purists and hot rodders alike. This unassuming C10 is a great example of a solid slice of Americana that's benefitted from plenty of cool upgrades. The recipient of a no-expense-spared restoration, the truck features clean aesthetics, an air conditioned cockpit, a tough automatic driveline and a supercharged 350 that's guaranteed to haul plenty of, well, whatever you need to haul. Ready for a pickup you'll be proud to show off? Take a close look at this awesome Chevy!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Sometimes you can just look at a vehicle and know it's something special. This slick C10's solid body was subjected to a ground-up restoration that valued conservative simplicity over the extravagant exhibitionism flaunted by its blown powertrain, and the street rod community in general. All of the truck's gaps are even, its lines straight and a crisp coating of Silver 2-stage reinforces a serious, no-nonsense vibe. And at the end of the day, it all adds up to one universally appealing classic that's highly functional and very well done.

By 1971, Chevrolet had mastered a tough design language that would create a rock-solid identity. And, in looking over the details of this well-dressed stepside, it's easy to understand how the brand created a lasting impression. At the front of the truck, a body-matched grille centers a bright blue bowtie between fresh headlights, amber parking lamps, and a silver bumper that's secured by polished hardware. Above that grille, a cowl induction hood fronts like-new glass, which is cleared by polished wipers and reflected in a textured mirror. Beneath that hood, a simplistic profile hangs chrome emblems, polished door handles and a stainless fuel filler amid stylish factory marker lamps. At the center of that profile, a spectacular wood bed is secured by stainless skid strips. And at the back of that wood, a stamped tailgate centers white "CHEVROLET" lettering between polished bed plugs, sleeved chains, polished tail lamps and custom roll pan.

ENGINE

One thing you won't have to worry about in this pickup is power. Thanks to a supercharged, 350 cubic inch Chevrolet small block, this subdued custom is more than just some pretty parking lot poseur! At the top of the impressive mill, a polished Holley Sidedraft weaves air in to a coated Holley 4-barrel that's piped to braided stainless fuel lines. At the base of that carburetor, a massive Weiand blower, complete with an automatic tensioner, feeds a lightweight Weiand intake. At the sides of that intake, GM Performance Parts heads hang a polished breather and polished and finned valve covers over coated, long-tube headers. At the back of those pipes, an aftermarket distributor shoots spark through proven Accel Ferro-Spiral wires. In front of those wires, an attractive March serpentine drive spins an aluminum water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and polished timing components. Cooling is provided by a polished aluminum radiator, which is strung in front of sleeved hoses and large electric puller fans. And, wearing Jet Black paint, the killer mill contrasts nicely against glossy silver fenders and a roster of polished accessories.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

The 'modified where it counts' theme continues underneath, where undercoated floors, dressed to match the truck's body, ride a sturdy factory frame that's sprayed in Gloss Black pigment. At the center of that structure, a familiar Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed, equipped with a polished pan and polished flywheel cover, funnels torque through a 12-bolt Moser axle. Tuff Stuff power steering makes quick work of turns while power-assisted discs and drums bring everything to a quick halt. The aforementioned headers dump spent gases in to aluminized pipes, which employ an H-shaped crossover and Flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers. The truck's Gloss Black chassis has been enhanced with a sturdy rear sway bar. And everything rolls on 20-inch Foose wheels, which spin 245/45 Venezia Crusade HPs in front of 275/40 Venezia Crusade HPs.

INTERIOR

Outfitted in a taught combination of cloth and vinyl, this Chevy's familiar Black interior complements significant substance with timeless style. The star of the show is a broad bench seat that features enough room for a small family. In front of that ledge, a clean, body-matched dash props a tight pad over direct-fit audio, Vintage Air climate control and Dakota Digital telemetry. At the sides of that dash, ornate door panels front manual windows. Below those panels, fade-free carpet bridges the gap between big kick speakers, a tall B&M shifter and polished stainless sills. Opposite that rug, factory visors shield a textured, stainless-trimmed headliner. And in front of the driver, an aggressive billet steering wheel laps a tilting column.
