1954 Chrysler New Yorker Description
.
All original 1954 Chrysler New Yorker DeLuxe 331 HEMI V8 235HP
Rare "Deluxe" 235 horse power version with a 4 barrel carburetor and dual exhaust.
Car is 100% complete and original. Factory automatic transmission (Powerflite), power steering, power brakes, 6 volt positive ground system.
Title is in my name and numbers are matching. Registration is current (expires March 2017). I've owned this car since 2002.
It is a 62 years old running vehicle that has dings, dents and scratches, and shows its age. It starts, runs, turns, and stops. Hi/Lo beams, parking and panel lights, stop and turn signals work as they should. All gauges are functional. Radio does not work. Passenger side lock cylinder is broken. Interior needs restoration. Removed door panel and all of the hardware removed from that door (handles, escutcheons, etc.) is there and included.
Master cylinder has been rebuilt, some brake lines replaced, some brake linings replaced, new belts, rebuilt power steering, water and fuel pumps, new spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and ignition wires, new hydraulic brake switch. Probably had less than 100 miles since oil and oil filter element were replaced.
Included with the car:
- Owner's and shop manuals;
- passenger side piece of the grille (to replace the one with two dents as shown in pictures);
- new driver side rear quarter panel molding (the one that is on the car is damaged)
Pictures (scroll down), except for the first one, were taken several years ago. Since then she's been collecting dust in my garage (see the last 3 pictures). The very first photo shows the car as it is today.
