Up for auction is my prized possession 1971 Datsun 240Z which has undergone extensive restoration / modification over the past 28 years that I have owned it.
A little history about this particular car.
Z was purchased in California from the backyard of my Nissan Parts guys mothers house back in 1992. After purchasing thousands of $$ of factory Datsun OEM NOS parts to restore my 1972 Z he asked if I might be interested in a 1971 240Z that had not been registered for many years. Needless to say I ended up buying it and the project started. I have receipts for ALL the OEM parts, aftermarket parts, and modifications that have been done to this car from the day I bought it. Car has NEVER seen salt or winter weather - NO RUST!!

Obviously if you’ve made it this far down the parts list you know what you’re looking at and how rare it is to have virtually everything except the body & chassis to be NOS. No expense was spared in the build of this car. She is NOT perfect and body was painted many many years ago (20 to be exact) has some chips and imperfections but as you can see from pictures she is pretty and a head turner. Hood bracket has been raised to keep good air circulation
I have lots of pictures of car over the years if you want documented proof of build. Car ran for the 1st time getting loaded to go to 2019 Z convention so motor is still in break in period and has not been dyno’d or abused. Motor has approx 150 miles on it
Don’t know what else I can tell you that the pictures don’t already show you. I will post more pictures of interior, engine bay, etc... as well as a couple of videos of car running and driving.
I do not have to sell the car and am in no major hurry to get rid of it. I am wanting to retire and be done with work so I am looking to sell it to make that happen. Car will need some tinkering to tune carbs & engine depending on where she finds a new home. Like stated paint is not perfect and has some flaws which I have tried to picture but after 20 years I think that's to be expected.
Car does not have a Radio, speakers, amp or anything stereo related. I like to hear my engine so I never installed one. I have boxes of parts, mostly used original. that will go with buyer if you desire to take them.
Please contact me with ANY questions prior to bidding and I will do my best to answer them. I have been involved with Z series cars since 1985. I lived in Japan for 7 years and hung out on weekends in the street dragging scene of Yokohama.
