1969 Dodge A108 Sportsman Van Camper
1969 Dodge Other A-108 Description
1969 Dodge A-108 Sportsman Family Wagon Travco
Travco was the company used by Dodge to install the fiberglass camper shell. I do not have any of the camper equipment, tables, cabinets, or bench seats.
Clear California title in my name, registered and insured. Van runs well, but I've only driven it around town on the weekends. Headlights, brake lights and turn signals work. Horn, radio and fuel gauge do not work. I've used this as my swap meet vehicle and trips to Home Depot. Steering is a little loose but like I said, I'm not driving 80 mph on the freeway. I did take it on a 60 mile round trip and it did fine. Recent oil change.
Only driver door lock works. Passenger side (door) window is missing window guide. Purchased a new window regulator but not installed. Installed a new 3 gauge pod (water, volt, oil) but not hooked up yet. If you want the bench seat let me know and I'll leave it in there. I think it's out of a Econoline van or Aerostar van. I do not have the original front or rear bumpers.
Recent repairs:
Fixed leak in radiator top (have shop receipt). Replaced u-joints and had drive shaft balanced (have shop receipt)
New tie rod bar, ties rods and drag link
New battery
318 2bbl (starts right up every time, sometimes just a few pumps of the pedal)
727 automatic transmission, manual drum brakes, manual steering
8 3/4 rear
Found leak at rear main seal. Transmission shifts fine, no leaks.
Wheels are 14" Chrysler steel wheels.
Rust can be found above driver side windows, floor pan, door hinges, above rear doors, and headlight areas. Interior bed/seating/storage area is solid.
There is bondo, filler on the windshield pillars, front floors, door hinges areas, and doors. When I picked it up last year, the van was running well and still worth saving rather than parting out. Depends on your needs or purpose for using the van.
Finding a transportation company/shipper is the responsibility of the buyer. Your call if you want to drive it home, but in this cold weather, probably not the best idea. It will be able to load onto a carrier, but keep in mind, with the camper shell on top, it will need to be loaded on top.
Make sure to ask questions prior to the end of the auction if you have any.
