1972 Dodge Challenger restoration project
1972 Dodge Challenger Description
1972 Dodge Challenger. Vin. JH23G2B151172 Description, hat I know or was told.
This vehicle was purchased by a family member in 1986 for the purpose of stripping the drive train and replacing it with a 340 4brl / Auto that was pulled from a 1970. It was originally titled as 318.
The body has had work done on the rear qtrs. Some trunk work has been done and the floor pan on drivers side was covered with a cheap patch. ( This was all done prior to 1986) Fronts, oors, hood and trunk all look to be pretty clean and solid. Have an extra driver door. Interior is all in great shape. New headliner. New rug. Reupholstered seats. Door panels and back side panels are in way better than average shape. Dash is near perfect. Center console looks to be in great shape. Bumpers look good. Looks like 2 vehicles worth of window trim etc. All gages are in the vehicle.
Suspension; Front end looks like crap. Won't even guess. 390 posi. As I am told.
Original rally wheels.
The engine was a top end rebuild. Heads and cam. I heard it run many times. Loud and obnoxious. There was a timing issue with the cam as he set it up. He pulled the intake and never put it back together. As it sits now.
Tranny is rebuilt with some stall converter I have no info for. Has a B&M shifter all new.
This car was last titled in Pennsylvania in 1986. Car was sold to 2 different owners in New York and bought by me in CT in July 2013. It was never registered in NY or CT. Have PA Title.
It can be a relatively simple project. Will consider trade for CJ8, aybe CJ7 or other interesting 4WD. Projects included.
Can be ( and should be) seen by in Berlin CT.
