1966 Dodge Coronet Description

1966 Dodge Coronet

Here goes the story: I bought this car from a man that used it to chase car shows. Paid 20,000.00 and was very pleased as the car was already painted and body is rust free, not to mention body was lazier straight. This too is hard to do being it's a black car.

It had a worn out 440 and drove bad and stopped worse.

Took it home and started building my dream car. In the following 3 years I spent over 25,000.00 on parts alone,Yes I'm not one to do like everyone else and wanted a good looking great handling powerful car, a G machine!!

I removed front end and had shock tower stiffeners, lower radiator stiffener (ties the frame rails together) I bought everything Hotckins sells for this car.

Rear leaf springs, rear hangers, rear sway bar. Gas shocks. Front sway bar. Upper control arms. Torsion bars, torsion arms. Lower control arm stiffeners. Heavy tie rods. And their sub frame connectors. Removed K section and welded it, then stiffened the steering box mounts. Powder coated it along with all the other front end parts. Bought a firm feel stage 3 steering box. Every part on front suspension is new Moog (ball joints, bushings)

Installed a disc brake front kit with the drilled rotors and hawk pads. Replaced all brake hoses. Installed a hydro boost brake system with a B&M line lock.

Bought a new custom built 502 cu in. Stroker motor with edelbrock heads and 6 pack carbs. Motor has the best of everything and forged crank, rods & pistons makes 600HP 620 torque All arp fasteners and a street friendly road race oil pan. New High torque starte, new power steering pump, new high output alternator. Digital ignition systems with rev limiter and line lock rev limiter. Adjustable timing control box. Headers with Dougs electric cutouts. 727 transmission fully built, deep pan forged input shaft. Trans cooler, power steering cooler. HID headlights with glass lenses. Quarter stick shifter with line lock on handle. Post rear end 355 gears. New vintage air AC system with hoses in inner fender well. New Autometer, tachometer and gauges. I could go on and on point is I have almost 50k in this car not including labor.

I've spent the last 3 years building my dream car and now I'm starting a new business and need to free up some capital. This cars got less then 30 miles since put together. Everything is new. Motor still needs to be tuned and front suspension aligned, the car has a few nicks in paint and a ding in hood.

This will be a monster on the street that should run like a cheetah and handle and stop like a modern car.

Yes all pictures were taken by myself so please look past the none staged presentation just the same I'll put this up against any 1966 coronet out there.

This car has it all, looks styling and brute muscle!

Not your same ole same ole among the never ending Chevelle’s and Camaro’s if your one who doesn’t follow the herd you found your car.
