1968 Dodge Other Pickups Custom Description

I've daily driven this old boy for 4 years with no problems. Factory 318-2bbl, NP435 4 speed tranny with PTO, factory Dana 60 rear with Sure-Grip and 4.11 gears. Manual steering, manual brakes, tow package with heavy duty frame hitch, made to haul loads and pull heavy trailers, which it does with no struggle at all. 2 wheel drive, 8 foot long box, truck is a good worker and driver. It was special ordered in Chrysler Corporate Blue (aka Petty Blue), so it may have been a parts delivery truck for a dealership at one time. Now on to the condition. It has a rusty body, but a good solid clean frame. There is rust in the bed, rockers, doors, front fenders, cowl, and in the front of the roof above the windshield. It may need a donor cab if you want to restore it, but it's fun and cool just the way it is! I did the fuel system (cleaned and sealed the factory gas tank), rebuilt the carb, had the radiator cleaned and fixed, new slave cylinder, new master cylinder, new brake hoses, and put good meaty tires on it. It runs good, does have a light lifter tick sometimes, and it does have a bit of blow by. It's old and used, but still fires right up and doesn't skip a beat. It doesn't visibly smoke either. Tranny is fine, but it now has a weak clutch in it. It will still move the truck, but if you give it too much gas, it will cause the clutch to slip. Figure it will need a clutch job. Brakes work fine, and the front end is not too bad. Still manageable to drive it. I hate to let it go, but I have too many vehicles now. It's an awesome old truck, but probably not the best candidate for a restoration. Use it as is, and enjoy it. It's a great conversation piece. Can be picked up in Ocala, Florida, 34470. Must have a deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auction's end, and truck must be picked up within a few weeks. Easy access if you need it shipped.
