1972 Dodge Challenger Description
Meticulous rotisserie restoration. Rust free original metal. H code hi perf 340. It is a very good looking car.
EXTERIOR: Texas car, the restorer said it is all original metal. The body is laser straight with great fitting panels. Doors shut like a new car. The metallic gold paint is laid out evenly. The clear coat makes it look wet. It's polished very smooth and glossy. Jambs are painted nice, weatherstrips are replaced. Decked out with the powerbulge hood with black stripe. Hasout dual black stripes on each side, chrome racing mirrors, chin spoilers in front and a ducktail spoiler on the trunk. Has a great muscle car stance with a set of brand new 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires, much fatter in back. All the stainless trim around the vinyl roof and windows is polished. The vinyl roof is new. Has new windshield and tinted glass. In back the tail panel is restored, bumper is rechromed. Has the correct rectangular exhaust tips coming through the valence. New chrome pop up gas cap, correct antenna, original door handles. Upfront has new chrome bumper, the grill and bezels are restored. The vin # on the dash matches the cowl, fender tag, door sticker, transmission and build sheet.
INTERIOR: Meticulously restored. The dash pad was sent out and professionally redone. Instrument panel is clean, not cut or broken. Has new electronic Vintage Air controls, new heater core. The plastic panels front and back look new. The center console is excellent including the chrome bezel around the slap stick shifter. Steering wheel is not worn. Carpet, upholstery and headliner was replaced. Upgraded with a modern stereo, mini tachometer mounted on the column and temperature and oil gauges mounted neatly below the dash.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 340 was completely rebuilt, has Comp cam. The engine bay has nice metal all painted the body color. The original fender tag is attached. Most components look new or restored. The motor is dressed up with Mopar performance finned aluminum valve covers, air cleaner and plug wire holders. Has a new Vintage Air system. The car is kept cool with an aluminum radiator, new shroud and an overflow bottle. Bottom of the hood is painted nice, has hood insulation.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean, solid metal painted the body color. Brand new tire on a painted rim for a spare. Has a restored jack assembly mounted in the correct location. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are painted glossy. New weatherstrip and mat.
UNDERSIDE: Front end is completely rebuilt with parts from Mancini Racing. Shocks were replaced. Brake system was restored. Bottom of the motor is clean. Vin # matched 727 Torqueflite auto trans. Super clean floors all painted the body color. The factory seams and spot welds are clean. Clean frame rails, inner rockers. New dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
Only 1,200 miles since finished. I get the impression this is a quality build, it feels right. The look is unique. I wouldnt think to pick this color but I love it. The whole package comes together real well. Ready to show off and enjoy.
