1970 Dodge Short Bed, D100 Sweptline pickup, rust free, original paint
1970 Dodge Other Pickups Description
This rust free original paint 1970 Dodge D100 short bed pickup spent most of its life in dry desert New Mexico and is very well preserved for its age. Overall the body is straight and there has been no body work anywhere. The front bumper and the right front fender are bent from running into something but the rest of the truck is very nice and straight. The only rust through on the entire truck is on the drivers side floor board. The fenders, hood, doors, bed sides and tailgate are all solid. The bed has surface rust only - no holes.
The drivetrain is a 225 slant six with a three speed on the column that runs decently. It could use a carburetor rebuild, but it is a running driving truck. The lights, horn, wipers and heater all work. The speedometer and odometer work too. The only things not working are the instrument lights and the gas gauge.
Within the last 8000 miles, the kingpin bushings were replaced, the rear differential was rebuilt and the exhaust system was replaced.
There are very few options on this truck. Manual steering, manual brakes, manual choke, manual trans, no radio. Only odd option is that it has 16 inch wheels.
This is a great old truck with a lot of character that someone could enjoy as is with a little TLC or it would make a great starting point for a restoration or hot rod. There is a reasonably low reserve price, so I feel quite sure the truck will sell. Good luck bidding!
