1968 Dodge Polara Description
I'm selling my 1968 Dodge Polara thatI don't have much time to drive anymore, and Ihate to just see it sitting there,
Overall it's a nice original survivor, I can't verifythe mileage is correct, but looking at thecondition, I looks like it could be the original mileage.
It looks to of been garaged, and I have kept itgaraged since I've bought it.
Condition as follows:
Engine and drivetrain:
All in original condition, no signs of any majorwork done to it.I have recently replaced plugs, wires, hoses and fluids as normalmaintenance.
I have replaced the 2bbl carb with a rebuilt carb. The exhaust is new dual exhaust using turbomufflers from a new Challenger, it sounds goodwithout waking the neighbors.
No major leaks, just a little seepage here andthere, but for an original engine it's pretty good.
The engine cranks easy and don't make any unusual noises or sounds. The A/C don't work, the compressor makes aloud rattle when engaged, All the parts are thereand with a new compressor and freon it should beokay. (I've unplugged the A/C clutch for now)
I don't have any issues with the rear end or u-joints, and the transmission shifts fine.I did replace the rearleaf springs five years ago when I bought itbecause the original ones were sagging.
Electrical:
Pretty good, usual gremlins in this age car, such asthe right turn signal sometimes not working, don't remember if radio was working last time ornot.I replaced the brake light switch because itwas hanging up, but no major issues.Gas gage isnot working, didn't work when I bought it, but Ihave a brand new sending unit that I will includewith the car.Headlightsand marker lights all work fine.
Brakes:
Four drums, pads and drums are good. Stops like acar with four drums, just like it did in the day.
Tires:
Brand new radials, old ones were dryrotted so I replaced them earlier this year.
Interior:
Good condition, when I purchased it the previous ownerhad recovered the seats, and replaced the carpet.
The dash has two cracks in it, but otherwise fine. The headliner needs replaced. There are also misc.trim items that could use addressed.
Body:
It was repainted by the previous owner more thanfive years ago, the car looked like this when Ibought it.I've had ZERO issues with anypaint bubbling up or signs of rust/repair underneath.
This body is straight and solid, the door and hood gaps are allgood, and the doors/hood/trunk operate like new.
It appears this car has always been garaged. Someof the trim is a little dented up and the normalpitting and aging of the chrome is there.
The underside is SOLID, with only some surfacerust. the trunk floor is SOLID, the trunk mat is original. I've haven'tfoundany indication of collision damageanywhere on the vehicle.
Overall the car isn't perfect, but it shows well andis a good solid driver quality car.
I do also have the original Owners Manual,Warranty book, build sheet, and the original Certi-Card in like new condition.
The Title is a clean and clear Kansas title.
