1976 Fiat 124 Spider Convertible 2-Door 1.8L NO RESERVE
1976 Fiat Other Description
Just in time for spring and the perfect use for that tax refund! I'm selling my 1976 Fiat 124 Spider. I've owned it for just under three years and between the price of oil and the fact that my kids no longer fit in the back seat, it's time for something a little more practical.
The engine is strong and reliable. It starts every time hot or cold. The PO said the engine was rebuilt, but I can't prove it. I've used it as my daily driver for the 4 of the past 6 months and even stuck in rush hour traffic in Houston it runs great and has never overheated in the three years I've owned it.
I've babied the car and made a bunch of upgrades, all done within the last two years. It has the lowered progressive springs all the way around thanks to Autoricambi. The main seal and water pump were replaced. The front end has been rebuilt with a new front control arm, tie rods, and brake pads. The rear differential was rebuilt and replaced. The transmission was replaced right after I bought it and a new clutch and clutch plate were installed at the time. It has a new top (less than a year old) and new emblems.
The interior is in great shape. It's passed the Texas safety inspection every year and all lights and electronics work. It has a pioneer cd sound system.
The body has absolutely no rust. I had it shipped here from Idaho where they don't use salt on the roads so the body is in great shape for a 40 year old car. It does have some dings and scrapes and the paint is probably a 6/7. A sand wedge paint condition.
In the interest of full disclosure, it's not perfect. The speedometer just stopped working recently and I haven't messed with it because I knew I was selling. The brakes pull when it's hot and the transmission grinds in second gear only when down shifting at high rpms. A second transmission is included which could be rebuilt and swapped out if it bothers you, but I've driven it as is.All in all its and fun and exciting car and with a little TLC could be pristine. I'm selling it with NO RESERVE. If you have questions feel free to ask, but do so before you bid because if you win its yours. A non refundable $500 deposit is due through venmo within 48 hours of the end of the auction and I will help with shipping at your expense. Thanks for looking and good luck.
