1965 Ford Mustang Description

1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback, Shelby GT-350 Re-creation. This car has been completely restored to better than new condition. The body started out as a solid car. Look at the photos to get a better idea what this car has gone through during restoration. Professional quality workmanship went in to the rotisserie restoration with countless hours spent. Every nut and bolt, every piece and part of this auto has been refinished.

I've got so many photos of this car it's hard to decide which ones to add to this auction so the ones I included above are just a few of my favorites.

Please look at my photo album of the restoration here: Hundreds of detailed photos…….

One of the best parts of this car is that it has a completely original un-rebuilt standard bore High Performance 289 V8 that came out of an original 1965 K model coupe. Also has the original matching numbered 4-speed Top Loader transmission and 9” rear end which also came out of the same car. The engine is still strong even though it has about 110k miles on it. But hey its an original K motor. They’re only standard bore once.

When I restored this car I wanted to make it as close to an original (1965 Shelby GT350 Carry-Over car) as I could. It is virtually a 65 Shelby without the pedigree. I doubt that you will ever find a better and more authentic recreation of a stock street 65/66 Shelby. I can’t stress enough for you to view the photo album and see for yourself what this car has gone through during restoration. Note that this car has features of a 1965 and some of a 1966. I did this basically because of personal preference.

Here are some of the particulars for this car……

· Started out as a A code 1965 Fastback

· Has an original K code engine, Toploader 4-speed trans, and 9” rear end (3.89) Posi gears, all brand new rebuilt FoMoCo disc brakes, all NOS suspension. Side exhaust modeled after an original and authentic 1965 GT350, Koni Shocks.

· Reproduction Cragar style wheels (5)

· Reproduction Shelby steering wheel (Tony Branda’s good one!)

· Radio delete

· Heater delete

· Autographed (Carroll Shelby) glovebox door, only included if the car sells for my reserve price, otherwise it will come with a brand new black glovebox door.

· Original style bullet mirror

· Original jack, and reproduction 1965 GT350 lug wrench (very hard to find, even repro).

· Original black and yellow California license plates

This car looks, feels, and drives like a REAL 1965-66 Shelby GT350. You will not find a more authentic recreation or tribute out there available for sale.

I don't know what else to say about this car. I built if for myself and no expense was sparred. Serious buyers only, contact me for any questions or a private viewing. I’m in Visalia, California 93292

Please NOTE - My reserve is set at the market price of this caliber of car. I know how much I have put into it and I know how much I can realistically get. The ONLY reason that I am offering this car for sale is because I am interested in purchasing a Shelby Cobra reproduction.

I've had a few ask about the interior of the car. I do have a few shots on my website that is linked in the description. If I have to re-list the auction, next time I will include some detailed photos of the interior. I can tell you this, it is don't original style except the seats that are in it are the Procar Scat racing seats. I do have the original seats that came with it and will include them with the sale. If was thinking about taking the Procar seats out and putting in the original seats and I may do that before I re-list the car for sale again. The dash has a 66 style instruments with gauges instead of the horizontal style. The Cobra tach is mounted on the dash, its the good one from Tony Branda. It has the 65 R-Model style roll bar and the flat package tray where the spare tire sits on top.
