BODY-THE BODY AND PAINT ON THIS TRUCK IS TRULY MY FAVORITE PART, IT IS IN MY OPINION THE BEST COLOR OFFERED IN THIS ERA OF TRUCK AND THE PAINT HAS THE RIGHT LOOK AND AGE MOST OF US ARE LOOKING FOR ON A SURVIVOR TO DRIVE AS IS OR TO CUSTOMIZE INTO THAT SHOP/FARM TRUCK BUILD. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL EQUALLY AGED PAINT THAT STILL HAS A VERY GLOSSY AND SMOOTH FINISH ON A VERY SOLID NORTHWEST DRY BODY WITH NEARLY NO CANCER. IT IS MOSTLY ORIGINAL PAINT WITH THE ORIGINAL DRIVER FENDER AND FRONT GRILLE THAT WERE REPLACED WITH OEM USED PIECES, BUT THE ORIGINAL COME WITH AS SEEN IN THE PIC BELOW SHOWING IT ONLY HAD MINOR DAMAGE. WHEN THE DRIVER FENDER WAS PAINTED THE HOOD WAS BLENDED IN, BUT OTHER THAN THAT THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS THE ORIGINAL 1971 PAINT.
FOR JUST SHY OF 5 DECADES OF USE THERE HAS BEEN NO ABUSE OR MAJOR USE IN THE BED THAT HAS NO RUST BEYOND THE SURFACE RUST YOU GET WHEN THE PAINT GETS WORN AWAY OVER THE YEARS, NICE STRAIGHT FRONT BULKHEAD AND THE TAILGATE THAT IS PERFECTLY STRAIGHT AND SHUTS AND CLOSES WITH EASE. THE AGED PAINT AND THE GLOSS LOOK WITH THAT PERFECT PATINA PAINT WEAR ON THE FRONT OF OF HOOD, TOPS OF FENDERS AND TOP EDGES OF THE BED SIDES LOOKS KILLER WITH THE GLOSSY AND AGED LOOK ON THE ORIGINAL TURQUOISE GREEN. ALL GLASS IS ORIGINAL WITH CORRECT LOGO AT THE BOTTOM INCLUDING THE FRONT WINDSHIELD THAT HAS JUST ONE SMALL CHIP IN THE CENTER. YOU CAN TELL BY ONE GLANCE HOW SOLID AND HONEST THIS TRUCK IS BY THE PICS ON THE TOP OF THE ROCKERS, BOTTOM OF DOORS, FLOORBOARDS, BODY MOUNTS, UNDERSIDE OF ROCKERS, CAB CORNERS, BOTTOM SIDE OF BED, REAR BED CORNERS, INNER WHEEL WELLS AND ALL THE OTHER HIGH RUST AREAS ON THIS GENERATION OF FORDS WHERE THESE ALWAYS RUST OUT. IT ONLY HAS RUST THAT WE COULD FIND ON THE INNER OUTER EDGE OF HOOD ON THE UNDERSIDE, ON THE OUTSIDE INWARD JOINTING POINT OF THE TAILGATE AND A WEIRD LITTLE SPOT ON THE VERY BACK OF THE BEDSIDE WHERE THE JOINTING POINT IS WITH THE QUARTER PANEL AND END CAP. IT IS HARD TO DESCRIBE HOW NICE THIS BODY IS AND HOW KILLER LOOKING THIS PAINT IS. IT IS ONE THING TO HAVE AGE AND PATINA, BUT TO HAVE THE APPEALING LOOKING PATINA IN ALL THE RIGHT SPOTS LIKE THIS TRUCK IS HARD TO FIND AND IT IS TRULY A ONE OF A KIND TRUCK! THIS CLASSIC IS ARROW STRAIGHT, BUT CLEARLY SHOWS AGE WITH 45 YEAR OLD PAINT WEAR WITH FADING, CHIPS AND LITTLE SURFACE SCRATCHES, BUT TO ME THAT ADDS THE DESIRE AND VALUE OF THIS TRUCK. I HAVE MANY CLOSE UP PICS OF THE TRIM AND PAINT AND IT CAN ALSO BEEN SEEN IN THE VIDEO ALONG WITH ANY WEARIN THE PAINT, BUT IF MORE ARE NEEDED LET ME KNOW. IT HAS NO BIG DENTS OR SCRAPES, BUT IT DOES HAVE SOME CHARACTER MARKS WITH A DING ON THE FRONT RIGHT AND LEFT REAR WHEEL WELL LIP, SOME SCUFF MARKS WITH SHALLOW LITTLE INDENTS IN THE METAL FROM CONTACT WITH SOMETHING AT THE RIGHT BOTTOM OF THE CAB CORNER AND CARRIES ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BEDSIDE NEAR THE TOOL BOX, A SMALL PEAK ON THE TOP RIGHT OF FRONT BUMPER, SOME SMALL DINGS AND AGING ON THE LOWER ALUMINUM TRIM, SMALL DING ON FRONT OF HOOD AND A COUPE TINY BLISTERS IN PAINT ON FRONT FASCIA OF HOOD NEAR THE F. THIS WELL LOVED AND CARED FOR CLASSIC IS VERY HARD TO FIND NOT ONLY UN-MOLESTED ORIGINAL CONDITIO, BUT VERY HARD TO FIND ONE OF THIS CALIBER IN THIS BEAUTIFUL AND SOLID CONDITION LIKE THIS LITTLE TEAL BEAUTY :)
INTERIOR-INSIDE IT IS ALL ORIGINAL, INTACT AND IN AMAZING SHAPE! THE DOORS POP RIGHT OPEN WITH EASEAND SHUT LIKE NEW WITH ONE SOLID SOUND WITH NOSAGGING AND HAS NICE GLOSSY PAINT THROUGHOUT THE JAMBS. THE FRONT FLY WINDOWS ARE TIGHT AND LOCK AND THE SIDE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY, BUT COULD USE SOME LUBE TO MAKE THEM A LITTLE EASIER. THE ORIGINAL RUBBER FLOOR MAT IS INTACT AND IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NO DRY CRACKS OR CHUNKS MISSING. THE ORIGINAL BENCH LOOKS REALLY GOOD, FEELS AND RIDES COMFORTABLY THAT HAS JUST A COUPLE SMALL MARKS IN IT, BUT THE FOAM INSIDE IS GETTING DRY SO IF YOU MOVE AROUND QUICKLY ON IT YOU WILL SOMETIMES SEE TINY ORANGE PIECES OF DUST THAT COME UP THROUGH THE CENTER MATERIAL. REALLY NICE AND CLEAN DELUXE TRIM DOOR PANELS WITH MINOR AGING ON THE ARM RESTS. THE SUN VISORS AND HEADLINER ARE COMPLETE AND LOOK GREAT WITH MINOR WEAR ON THE MATERIAL AND SOME AGING IN THE COLOR. GAUGES WORK AND ALL LIGHTS ALONG WITH THE HEATER THAT BLOWS VERY WARM, BUT THE STEREO IS ON IT'S WAY OUT AND THE LITTLE E-BRAKE LIGHT ON THE LOWER LEFT IS ALWAYS ON. OVERALL IT SHOWS SOME MINOR AGE, BUT FOR 45 YEARS OLD SHE'S HELD UP GREAT!
MECHANICAL- THIS OLD F-SERIES IS VERY TIGHT AND SOLID MECHANICALLY ANDIS A VERY STRON, QUIET AND SMOOTH RUNNER WITH NO HESITATION, TICKING, SMOKING, BIG LEAKS OR ISSUES. IT DRIVES AND STOPS STRAIGHT AND TIGHT JUST AS IT SHOULD WITH NO SURPRISES. IT HAS THE FACTORY 360 V8 THAT FIRES RIGHT UP EVERY TIME WITH ONE PUMP OF THE PEDAL THANKS TO THE ELECTRIC CHOKE THAT ALWAYS IDLES UP WHEN COLD AND THEN IDLES DOWN ONCE WARMED UP. IT IS ALWAYS A SMOOTH AND QUIET RIDE WITH A NICE RESPONSIVE THROTTLE WHETHER ON THE FREEWAY OR BUMPY BACK ROADS. IT HAS THE C6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT DOWN SHIFTS QUICKLY ON DEMAND AND ALWAYS UP SHIFTS NICE AND CONSISTENT. IT IS EASY TO MANEUVER WITH POWER STEERING THAT IS VERY TIGHT AND TRACKS STRAIGHT, FIRM AND STRAIGHT STOPPING POWER DISC BRAKES THAT DO NOT SHAKE OR PULL. THIS FORDS ENGINE BAY IS VERY CLEAN WITH FACTORY DECAL SAND MARKINGS IN PLACE AND THE UNDERSIDE IS IN A NICE HONEST STATE, BUT IS NOT SPOTLESS WHICH A LOT OF COLLECTORS REFER TO AS ITS NATURAL USED AND CARED FOR STATE JUST AS I BELIEVE A SURVIVOR SHOULD BE. LIKE ANY CLASSIC OR OLDER CARBURETOR FED VEHICLE WHEN IT HAS IT'S FIRST COLD START OF THE DAY IT IS AT IT'S BEST IF THE CHOKE IS ALLOWED TO DO IT'S JOB AND LET THE TRUCK RUN AT IDLE FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE YOU HIT THE ROAD ONCE IT CAN IDLE DOWN. IF I COULD KEEP ALL THE ONES I WANTED TO THIS ONE WOULD NEVER LEAVE AND IT IS ONE I WOULD NOT STRESS ABOUT BEING IN TRAFFIC WITH AND WOULD TRUST TO TAKE ANYWHERE :)
NOT ONLY COSMETICALLY DOES THIS TRUCK TELL A VISUAL STORY, BUT INSIDE IT HAS A GREAT CLASSIC FEELING AND PRESENCE OF A LOVING AND ORIGINAL OWNER, SO PLEASE THOROUGHLY LOOK THROUGH THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS AS IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND A TRUCK WITH THIS CLASS OF CHARACTER AND ORIGINAL CONDITION. WE TRULY HOPE THIS ONE GETS LEFT AS IS AND GOES TO A HOME THAT WILL RESPECT AND CARE FOR IT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL FAMILY. THIS TRUCK FULFILLS THAT OLD TRUCK NEED AND FEELING MOST ARE LOOKING FO, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SIMPLY LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MODERN INVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED SINCE THIS TRUCK WAS BORN AND HOW FAR OTHER ITEMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES AND KEEP IN MIND NEW VEHICLES HAVE THE BOXES TO CHECK FOR COMFORT OPTIONS LIKE LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, NAVIGATION ETC AND VEHICLES OF THIS ERA LOADED MEANT GETTING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, A BASIC AM STEREO AND A SPARE TIRE :) THIS MAY HELP TO AIM YOUR EXPECTATIONS ON OWNING A VEHCLE OF THIS AGE.The older the car, the harder it is to define the condition of the vehicle.Most of our vehicles are specialty vehicles or are 15+ years old, and usually trucks.
