DRIVETRAIN:
  • Engine is 85 HP mid-40's 59A Ford flathead V8. Stock w/ single carb. Starts, runs and sounds great.

BRAKES:
  • Front - 55 Ford F-100 pickup. Self energizing with bulkhead fittings thru the frame and braided stainless brake hoses.
  • Rear - 39 - 45 Ford with residual valve in brake line
  • 65 Mustang master cylinder under floor
  • Modified original hand brake lever in original location
  • Original spindles modified to accept F-100 "self energizing" brakes
DETAILS:
  • Steel body, 30/31 closed car cowl and doors modified for "roadster" windshield, body set back 5", channeled 4" some body-work completed and painted in primer sealer gray
  • Original (shortened) 1930 bed and Ford script tailgate - 3/4" plywood bed floor with original metal strips. Small metal box from brass era car (has brass latch) mounted in bed for use as tool box. (some rust through on small box)
  • Fuel tank - Original Model A with fuel shut-off valve and in-line filter
  • Windshield - Fabricated frame with tinted safety glass fastened with original style hardware. Removable to comply with TROG
  • Dietz 8" chrome sealed beam headlights / 1930 Model A stop / tail light (1)
  • Interior - Wood floor supported by steel frame, fabricated seat frames with forward/aft adjustment glides on driver's seat
  • Instruments - Manual oil pressure and water temperature guages, alternator light and original Model A mechanical fuel guage
  • 12 Volt electrical system with 65 amp alternator with alternator light in cockpit. Battery is mounted under passenger side floorboard and has hidden master dixconnect with removable key
  • Bodywork is "in progress". Some surfaces have many layers of paint including original bottom layer. Some surfaces have been metal worked, filled and primed and some surfaces have original paint and surface rust patina. Doors have temporary latches installed and rattle a bit on bumpy roads.

  • Driveability: Starts every time, runs smooth, no overheating issues
  • oil pressure is 35+psi at speed and 10 psi at idle hot. Transmission shifts good and is quiet. Swivel joint connection between closed drive line and transmission leaks a small amount of oil. Steering gearbox leaks a small amount of oil. Both leaks are very small but will leave spots on your garage floor. It has been driven approximately 3,000 miles since completion in July 2013.
  • Top speed so far is 65 mph and is limited by rear wheels. The old wires are not perfectly true.
  • Clear and current California title. Registered as a 1930 Model A Ford pickup with the original VIN stamped into Model A frame.
