1993 Ford F-250 Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1993 Ford F-250 HD with the desirable long box and bulletproof 300ci inline six cylinder engine. The F-Series trucks are the best selling family of trucks for good reason. Their reputation for rugged construction and reliability is well earned. I would rate the exterior of this F-250 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Please keep in mind that this is a 20+ year old work truck with over 180k miles. It's finished in basic fleet white and looks good for her age. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific truck, there are a few rust spots around the fenders and at the very back of the bed...but nothing horrible. The body looks nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of BFG's with good tread all around. Please take your time to check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this truck looks.

I would also rate the interior of this F-250 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Being an XL trim, the interior is fairly basic. The door cards are clean and tight. The vinyl floor shows well and is easy to clean. It looks like the bench seat is not original, but it is clean and comfortable. The dash and headliner are clean. The stereo is the original unit which still works properly and sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The a/c will probably need charged for next season but the heater works fine.

Mechanically, this truck appears to be in good running and driving condition with one question mark (read on). The 300ci inline six cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an old truck. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. I can hear an audible "whirring" noise coming from the front so maybe the fan clutch is wearing out...? However, the engine keeps perfect temperature at all times and excellent oil pressure so I don't see any cooling issues. The check engine light comes and goes, but this truck is too old for me to be able to read the code as my scan tool will only communicate with vehicles using OBD2 software (1996 and up). The engine makes good power and feels strong. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. The transmission is where the question lies. Either this truck is a factory 4 speed and someone stuck the wrong shift knob on it or it is a 5 speed that is missing 5th gear somehow. I'd guess it's the latter, if I had to guess...but I don't know for sure. What I do know is that it has 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th but no 5th. Gear changes through the available gears are smooth and clean with no issues. Suffice it to say, this truck is not a fan of highway speeds. I've had it doing 60...but I don't know if I'd want to push it much further for extended periods of time. If you find yourself constantly on the highway doing 70-80mph, this truck probably isn't for you. If you need a rock solid 3/4 ton truck and stay around town most of the time, this truck will suit you just fine. It is a fresh NEW TRUCK TRADE and has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of April, 2017. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
