Fully restored hard to find Model A Pickup Roadster variant with original steel Blue over black exterior with lighter blue accents and red pinstriping, black vinyl folding top 201 CID L-head inline four-cylinder engine Three-speed sliding gear manual transmission Hydraulic brakes Whitewall tires with red wire wheels Dual cowl lights and stone guard Bed canopy mounted atop on tall, wooden posts with side curtainsFord’s Model A came in more 30 than variants and here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars, we have one of the more unusual ones and hard to find Model A Pickup Roadster that still retains most of its original sheet metal. These original roadster pickup bodies are very hard to come by because these trucks were used for generations to do day by day work. We were able to recently purchase this pickup from a furniture manufacturer family in rural Oklahoma.
Fully restored, this truck is gorgeous, with its blue over black paint, highlighted by lighter blue accents and red pinstriping. The paint is in excellent condition overall but there are some blemishes around the cargo bed. The single, flat windshield pane is in very good condition, as are the vehicle’s lights. Note that it has the optional cowl lights as well. This sweet little truck rolls on red Ford wire wheels, surrounded by classic whitewall tires. There’s a spare tire with wheel tucked into the driver’s side front fender. The body panels are solid and straight and in the cargo bed, the floor is made of wood segments linked by black metal strips bolted down. Truck comes with a bed cover mounted atop tall, wooden posts with side curtains. Finishing off the bed is a Ford tailgate. Mounted to either black running board is a silver metal step plate, meant to provide extra traction for the driver’s and passenger’s feet when getting in or out of the truck. The black, foldable vinyl top mirrors the overall condition of the body. The truck’s horn is mounted just beneath the driver’s side headlight. The front bumper and rear bumperettes are in excellent condition.
The engine bay, with its 201 CID L-head inline four-cylinder, is very tidy. Backing up that engine is a three-speed sliding gear manual transmission.
Inside, the black vinyl bench seat is in excellent order. There’s no carpet but the floor is in good order and the blue metal dashboard is in very good condition, with its factory gauges. The four-spoke steering wheel is in good order, as are the door panel. The truck only has a driver’s side windshield wiper, which is electrically operated.
Competition to this Model A pickup in 1931 included Chevrolet’s Series AE Independence pickup and Dodge’s Series F pickup truck.
This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 82,258 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Oklahoma title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
