Up for auction is my 1959 Ford galaxy Retractable Hardtop/ convertible . The car needs a complete restoration but ut is in very solid overall condition. There is NO rust in floor pans or trunk areas. The car has been sitting and was last driven in 1963.The engine is the original Ford 352 cubic inch of 300hp with Cruise-O-Matic auto transmission. Somewhere along the line a previous owner has swapped the original four barrel carburetor and installed a two barrel carb. it is missing the original air cleaner. Most of the original interior is still in the car except for the front seat. All of the upholstery will need to be replaced but the original stuff could be used for colors and patterns. The top mechanism appears to be complete but I am not an expert on these cars but I did buy a factory original 1959 Ford Workshop Manual which will go with the car and the top checks out. (The manual is original and not a reprint so very hard to find.) The activation switch /indicator for top is missing . I have collected and gathered lots and lots of extra Galaxy and Skyliner parts which are includedwith the sale. I will not sell these parts separate so please don't ask. they will be packed inside the car for the new owner. The car is missing the front windshield. new ones are available and can be purchased for around $300 plus freight. Also that goes with the car is a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX REAR WINDOW. I found this in a warehouse in the Midwest and is new in the box. these are also hard to find. This car is an excellent car for restoration with a solid beginning. It has not been chopped up and modified and will make someone and excellent project. The photo of the data plate is very hard to read but the VIN number is H9RW120629 which indicates it is a 1959 Ford Galaxy Skyliner body type 51A with color RA (black top red body)TRIM CODE 56. It was manufactured in San Jose California on may11,1959. Since the photos were taken new outer rocker panels have been installed on both sides of the car.
The car rolls easily and will have to be pushed onto a trailer or transport for transportation to the new owner. I will be happy to assist in loading but the buyer will have to arrange the shipping. A PayPal nonrefundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end and the balance is due within 7 calendar days of the end of the auction. I would like the car to be picked up within a couple of weeks after auction ends but can store it somewhat longer depending on the needs of the buyer. There is NO WARRANTY EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED! after all the car is almost 60 years old. This is a chance to obtain a RARE classic car for a very reasonable price. Ihave long been retired and am whittling down the collection. Thank you very much for looking!
