1940 Ford 2dr Deluxe, Merc Flathead, Columbia 2 spd, Same Owner 1945-2009
1940 Ford Deluxe Description
This is a 1940 Ford Deluxe 2dr Sedan. This car had the same owner from 1945-2009, ( I have the 1945 title as well as a clear title in my name) The Guy was a Aircraft pilot in WWll. He bought the car January 1945 in Big Spring,Texas where he was stationed and later moved to Albuquerque, NM where the car remained until 1999. He put a Merc Flathead in it. The Car already had the Columbia 2 speed rear end in it. The car was repainted sometime in the early 50's to its current color, it was a Blue car originally. The Original paint still remains on the firewall, so yes it has patina that is real. He installed a JC Whitney
interiorkit some time in the 50's as well. The Owner parked the car sometime in the late 50's and gave it to his son. The car sat in the garage until he passed away in 1999. The son then brought the car to Colorado but never did anything with it until 2009. The car was pulled out of the garage and had a 46 Merc Flathead that is 80 over with some relief work installed and got running again. I purchased the car in 2012, Here is a partial list of the things done since 2009. The Columbia 2 speed works great and the car cruises at 70-75 MPH.
