Where do I start, I purchased this 1940 Deluxe coupe nearly 20 years ago. This belonged to a guy up near the Wisconsin Dell's he had owned it since the early 50's . It was a Hot Rod the majority of its life. His boys where in the middle of restoring the car we the father passed away. I purchased it from the family, I have a clear title. After 20 years I have not made much progress in getting the car finished so I am going to let someone else finish it and get her back on the road. I would suggest you come take a look if you can, or send someone by. I will be more than happy to describe the car in this ad, and you can call me about condition 847 587-0465 Lyle Zanker
All Steel 1940 ford Deluxe Coupe The family's son was a body man at BMW and everything that is primered is ready for paint. The raingutters are perfect, the body work is nice as good as it gets alot of time was spent on doing it right. the car had a fiberglass hood when I purchased it. I found a very nice original steel hood. All the glass is there, all the bumpers are there, the car has a late 50's pontiac rear end (old School) and has 5 leafs on each side some kit they purchased from a hot rod place, very nicely done. car had a sbc which I did not buy it was just a little 283. it ready for a new small block. the car retains all the tuck n roll black interior, no tears in the seat or door panel, some button strings are broke. has a padded dash, no instrument cluster. The tool tray is very solid, the front floors are very solid, someone put a steel patch over where the spare tire would go, the told me it had a fuel cell back there, they gave me the original tank which is it the photos. They had all the interior moldings chromed and that looks pretty cool. the fenders are super nice as are the doors no rust or patchs on the doors. This 40 has been in my heated shop for the last 20 years and is well preserved, in a garage most of its life has made a big difference.
It was a complete car taken apart to paint it, this is not a basket full of junk. IT would make someone a great project and super nice 40
