1968 Ford Other Description

Presenting My Beautiful and Super Clean 1968 Ford LTD Country Squire Wagon No Reserve! She has to go and needs a good home! This lovely beast has been in my possession for some time now and the time has come for it to find a new home. There are very few of these old land yachts left on the planet and maybe a handful can match the excellent condition and rare combination of features and specs. I drive this car as often as I can and it is a pure pleasure to drive and an unbelievable attention grabber everywhere it goes. Think of her as the ultimate drivable show car / super hero soccer dad mobile.. and an appreciating classic that needs nothing but gas and a driver. Unfortunately for me I have way too many cars and will be moving soon, so my old wagon has to go. I'm looking for the perfect new home for her so she's been listed with no reserve and will hopefully find a new owner soon! There are several items on this vehicle that make it one of the rarest of the old ford wagons, first off it was manufactured in Canada for sale in the USA. It is also one of the only years that feature the signature and extremely cool flip down headlight covers which are fully functional and not completely dead as in most fords of this vintage. Add to that the flip down jump seats in the rear, the combined swing out and flip down tailgate and the badass hot rod style looks and you have yourself this beautiful classic. I'm going to do my best to detail everything I know about this car but I'm sure that I'll leave out a few details. Feel free to contact me with any questions that I may have neglected to answer. This car has undergone a full restoration about 10 years ago. Items that were rebuilt or replaced at that time include: Rebuilt engine - Ford 390ci V8 Rebuilt transmission - Ford C6 HD box, very rare option for this model Rebuilt differential All bushings, ball joints and suspension rubber replaced New shocks and springs - load assist in front and HD in rear Rebuilt steering gear and all new linkage AC rebuilt and serviced - blows cold New heater core and blower motor New radiator New brake lines Brakes rebuilt and serviced All interior and exterior lights in good working order I'm sure there are plenty of items that I have forgotten to put on that list, essentially all of the big ticket items have been taken care of so the car starts, drives and stops as good or better than the day it left the showroom. The car has also undergone a proper cosmetic restoration as the pictures clearly show. Here is a short list of the items that have been replaced or restored: Top notch exterior paint job in original color - paint is 8-9/10 with 3-4 stone chips and a couple of dime sized areas of bubbling Painted exterior fiberglass trim is all OEM and painted in an attractive accent color All exterior trim is original with few blemishes and defects Interior is mostly original and beautifully maintained with only new front seat inserts having been expertly sewn into the existing upholstery. Everything else in the interior is original and nearly perfect Note that the wood grain vinyl has not been installed along the sides. Although the wagon looks great without it this can be done for a few hundred dollars by any auto graphic shop. There are a few trim pieces that are showing pitting and signs of age. Notable items on this list are the roof rack and the passengers side corner of the forward hood trim. Otherwise I'd rate the condition of the exterior trim at a solid 8/10. The important thing is that all of it is there, every piece of aluminum, chrome and all of the badges are there which is almost unheard of for a car of this age. A couple of years ago several items were added to the car to improve functionality and give it a more beefed up attitude: Full dual exhaust with H-pipe and dual flowmaster mufflers. I have no words for how badass the exhaust sounds. Nothing like a big block V8 rumbling at low idle to wake up the neighbors. The flowmasters keep interior drone to a minimum and exterior rumble to a maximum. Aftermarket CD player with bluetooth streaming, 4 coaxial speakers and subwoofer with amplifier installed in spare tire well. The new radio is professionally installed in the glove box leaving the original radio untouched in the dash. American Racing torque thrust 17" wheels and tires add much improved handling and braking as well as aggressive hot rod style As far as the rest of the car, I have taken some photos of the floor pans and rockers to show that they are in overall excellent condition. This vehicle has never been undercoated and there is only minimal surface rust where the factory original undercarriage paint has chipped away. This alone tells you that this wagon has led a very charmed and pampered life, probably never seeing a salty road or a rainy day.. something amazing considering it has lived in the northeast since new. I also have a small collection of paperwork to go with the car including the original owners manual as well as some service documents, many of which bear the name of the original owner who would have turned 100 this October. Business stuff: Deposit of $500 via paypal within 3 business days of auction closing. Balance payable via bank transfer or bank check. Vehicle will not be released until bank has cleared the funds.
