1969 Ford F-350 Custom Cab Long Wheelbase Dually Description

One-of-a-kind, desert Southwest, great running, nearly rust-free (floorboard & inner cab corner only... see pics), almost original yet tastefully modded (stacks, air horns, chrome rims, very heavy-duty flat bed), 27 year second owner, 1969 Ford F350 Custom Cab Long Wheelbase Flat Bed Dually with a 390 and NP435 4 speed manual. It's been in the dry climate of Southern Utah since new. First owner bought it, kept it until 1989, and then sold it to the second owner who was a friend. He passed away recently so I'm selling it for his widow. I'm the Ebay go-to guy among my friends and family.
This truck had a PTO powered pump rig attached for much of its life. Both owners were well drillers and it was typically driven to the job site and parked. The pump would run as needed until the drilling job was finished. To accommodate the pump, the flat bed was built to a very high standard and the frame was strengthened (see pics). It still has the pump attached to the PTO, an air tank underneath and hose reel in the rear. The sturdiness of the build (and 390, NP435 4 speed w/granny low, Dana 70 rear diff & dual rear wheels) lends itself to attaching a 5th wheel/goose neck hitch to the flat bed and/or creating a vintage car hauler/rat rod/hot rod/welding rig/shop truck, etc. The possibilities are endless... or just enjoy it as it is.
The running gear is strong but not without issue. The 390 runs well, 4 speed shifts smoothly, and power steering and power brakes work nicely. The PTO unit is attached to the driver side of the transmission (see pics). Tires have decent tread but are old and best considered rollers. Fuel pump and battery are new. Rear fuel tank has been unhooked and truck runs off front (cab) tank. It just needs the manual tank selector switch on the floor replaced. Carb could stand to be rebuilt but it runs pretty good as it sits (and idles very smoothly). Dual exhaust has Cherry Bomb mufflers feeding 3.5" stainless steel stacks. Truck sounds very cool. The downside is the block has a water jacket with a pin hole leak that has been repaired.
The cab and flat bed are in very good condition. The hood was replaced at some point but all other panels are original. Rust is confined to the floorboard and driver side cab corner. It's minor, easily repairable stuff (see pics). Dual air horns with ceiling pull chain are attached to the roof. They need an air compressor (long since removed) to operate. Cab was resprayed once long ago in what looks to be the original Rangoon Red. Paint is still pretty decent and has a nice patina. Doors open and close properly and all glass is good. Flat bed is the sturdiest I've ever seen.
The interior is all original and impressive. Dash is in great shape with no cutting or butchery of any kind. It even has the original radio. Door panels and related trim are in good shape and windows roll up and down properly. Original upholstery is worn (but still there for matching purposes) and dash pad is cracked from the desert heat. Headlight switch is in glove box and needs to be installed or replaced. Gauges all appear to work. Blinkers and wipers do as well. Heater fan and headlights do not.
