1968 Ford Mustang Convertible Original Survivor C code PS Project Car Resto
1968 Ford Mustang -- Description
Up for auction is a very rusty 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible that is a “C” Code 289-2bbl automatic. This car has a severe amount of undercarriage rust. Please review my photos, they are very accurate! This car does actually run, not off the tank but runs with fuel poured down the carb. It seems to run well but I haven't ran it long enough to make a good evaluation of its condition. The car rolls pretty easily, and the tires hold air long enough to load it up on a trailer. This car has factory power steering. It came from the factory with a manual top. Unfortunately I have not been able to get the doors open. #1, they are resting against the 1/4 panel, but even when the car is jacked up, they still don't want to open. I think something is disconnected because I don't feel much happening when you push the door handle button in. When it is jacked up, you can see the door gap open back up. The outer rocker panel surprisingly looks good. The rest is gone, torque boxes, inner rockers, floors, rear frame rails. The front of the car is halfway decent and fairly solid. 1/4’s need patchwork or replacement, hood is very good, trunk needs to be replaced, I'm not sure what the doors will look like when they are opened up but they look OK from the outside. Fenders are cheap enough to replace. The interior is all there and actually in good shape. The seats will clean up and can be used. The carpeting is worn and will need to be replaced. The dash is in good condition. Door panels seem to be OK. It is all there. The car is a MAJOR restoration project. I do have the title that matches the original VIN stamping on the driver side inner fender.
