BARN FIND: 1967 Ford Galaxie XL Convertible - 390 V8, Factory A/C, Power Windows
1967 Ford Galaxie XL Description
This is a relatively rare, 1967 Galaxie XL Convertible, that has been sitting indoors, covered, for the past five years.
I purchased this car from a Nebraska owner about 5 years ago with the intention of restoring it, but I just don't have the time. The car was not running at that time, circa 2013, but he represented to me that it had originally come out of Arizona. It still has a Missouri inspection sticker from 1995 on the windshield, so it's my belief that in the mid to late 90's the vehicle was still running, if not more recently still. The odometer reads a little over 51,000 miles.
The car is sold "as is" and I make no guarantee or warranty regarding any of the mechanical and electrical components, namely any accessory power motors or switches, the engine, transmission, and related parts.
The car has all the expected XL trim level options - the 390 V8, Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, Bucket Seats.
The previous owner told me that the vehicle had been hit and he replaced the driver's side door with one from a non-XL Galaxie. This is obvious from the pictures, but please note that I have the interior door panel, driver's side rear view mirror, and original power window motor mechanism to effectively convert the replacement door into an XL trim door.
As you can see from the pictures, the body panels are in solid shape with no significant rust evident. The interior seats are in very good condition, though the rear seat is not presently installed, and all are pictured in the listing photos. The instrument cluster, center console, and other switches and vents all appear to be present and in good condition. The carpets are worn, as you'd expect.
The convertible top is in excellent condition, inside and out, and has a glass rear window. I do not know whether the motor still operates, but based on the visible condition I would anticipate that it very well may.
The underside of the car displays some surface rust in areas, but overall the frame appears to be completely rock solid and straight. The exhaust was replaced and appears to be in solid shape as well. See the pictures to confirm that there's nothing to be scared of!
Included with the vehicle are an assortment of extra trim pieces and extra window glass for the driver's side door, in addition to the other pieces needed to restore the door to XL level trim, as discussed above.
The buyer must arrange for the car to be transported from Paterson, New Jersey and bears this cost entirely, though I will assist any transport company in loading the vehicle onto a flatbed or car carrier at no cost to the buyer.
Payment is required at or before the time the vehicle is picked up by the buyer or their agent in Paterson, NJ.
Payment must be in the form of either a certified check, money order, or cash.
