1993 Ford Escort LX Wagon
1993 Ford Escort Description
1993 Ford Escort LX Wagon. Selling for parts but could be put back on the road with some work.
Car is being sold for $250 without the title or $300 with a clean and clear title. The previous owner signed the title over to me, I never registered it, so if you want a title NY DMV charges $50 and it takes a few weeks for them to send it. I will go and get the title issued to me, then sign it over to you.
I bought the car knowing it needed some work, but life got in the way and never got around to doing anything with it. I was going to use it as a station car.
The good: Only has 112,000 miles on it. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts through all gears. It is a 1.9 Liter engine and auto trans. All the glass is in perfect condition, missing 1 piece of trim around the rear side window. The body is in very nice shape for it's age. Yes there is a few scratches, scuffs and dings, but nothing really bad. One spot of rust about the size of a dime over the right rear wheel. Interior is in great shape except for the headliner. The headliner was hanging so I took it out. Seats, dash and all interior panels in really nice shape. A/C blows cool, the heat blows hot. The automatic seat belts work, and even the original factory radio works well.
What it needs: two small rust holes in the floors. One on the passenger side and one on the drivers side. Both about the size of a fist. The battery is completely dead, but the car starts right up with a jump start. Both CV axle boots are torn, just may need boots or could need new axles. Needs tie rods and ball joints, but I'm including brand new ones with the car. Now the biggest problem. No Brakes. I was moving the car a few months ago and the right front brake line blew. I replaced the brake line but never bled the brakes. So now the brake pedal goes to the floor and the car just keeps going. The car will need new brake pads and rotors, and probably the rear brakes done also. The car has been sitting for a few months but I start it regularly and move it around the driveway. All original paint a little sun faded but still in decent shape. Tires are dry rotted.
Great car for parts or could be really easy to get it on the road again.
Since I'm asking so little for the car, payment will be in cash when you come to get the car. This car is obviously being sold as is, where is with no warranties or guarantees of any kind. Since it has no brakes it will have to be towed at your expense. You are responsible for picking it up or any shipping. Car is located in Monroe, NY about an hour north of NYC. You can call with questions only until 9 PM please. 845-477-2506. No texts.
