1929 Model A Ford Sport Coupe
1929 Ford Model A Description
Up for Auction is a 1929 Model A Ford Sport Coupe. I am selling this for a older lady that her husband passed away about a year ago and he had just finished restoring it about a year before he died. I started the car and pulled it out of the shed for the pictures. Didn't clean or wipe off the dust. I did not drive it down the road but the lady said they did drive it several times before he got sick. This guy did all the work on the car including the paint and upholstery. I did look the car over pretty well and this is what I seen during my inspection of the car. It runs okay, but could use things adjusted like timing and carburetor to make it run better. The brakes need adjusted as well. No knocking or engine noise. (sounded like a Model A) The chassis is in good shape and looks like everything has been rebuilt to original. It has all four shocks and look like they are rebuilt or new as well. The steering column is a little loose and the bushing at the wheel is worn. It had gas in it when I started it and it was not leaking. Mechanically it is sound, but I don't know about things I could not see like inside the drums, clutch, transmission etc. I am sure he rebuilt all of those things when he restored it. It is missing the anti rattle brackets for the brake rods. The body is in okay overall condition. You can see he replaced a couple of the under body pans and cowl panels. Some of the body may not line up great with the other panels, like below the rumble seat and the hood to the body. I think the hood can be adjusted to fit without to much work. The windshield has a crack in it on the passenger side. The side glass goes up and down good. The doors close and open good. The fenders are in good shape as is the running boards and splash aprons. Everything could use a good buffing. The horn works great and the headlights look like new and the grill shell is nice as well. The front and rear bumpers look to have average good chrome, but should clean up nice. The tires are new but the right rear was down when I started it. The dash valance has a couple holes in it and he installed a oil pressure gauge too. The key is a newer off/on switch. The lights work and it charges when running. I did notice the light switch on the wheel is upside down. The car has a lot of little things that could be done to make it nicer and will make a nice driver. I have described this car the best I could and may have missed a few things. Please look at the pictures and ask questions before bidding. The car is at the lady's house and it might take me a day to reply to some questions. You can call me at 574-two50-six634 if you like.
