1957 Ford Ranchero Custom with Original 292 engine and Tuck Roll Interior
1957 Ford Ranchero Description
This '57 Ranchero was customized a long time ago and not by me. I bought it about 10 years ago. I have not driven it much in the last 3 years, (I have 5 cars) so it needs to find a new garage. The only work I have done is replace the alternator and one airbag. The 292 with 2 speed auto runs strong and rides well. It has air bag suspension and will setthe frame on the ground when lowered. The air bag compressors are located under the bed in the rear foot well of the station wagon platform that it was originally built on.It appears to have been painted by most everyone has owned it. (see the photo of the inside drivers door) You can see red, blue and an off white paint under the current white. The current paint is very well applied as are the scallops and stripping. It has been lovingly abused by everyone who has had the privilege to own it. It has nicks and scratches on all four corners and some in between. It is not a garage queen! It does have rust in many places, the rear fender wells, the middle foot well and probably other places. The interior is in great condition. Having said that, the carpet is a little tattered. The exterior door handles are shaved as well as the hood. The doors can be opened by remote or thru the wind wing window. (that's what I have always done)The air bag suspension can be operated remotely as well. The pickup bed has a hard cover that is hinged at the base of the rear window. The odometer has never worked since I've had it so actual mileage is unknown. The speedometer needle bounces around. There are squeaks and rattles as you drive. Please email me for additional or specific photos or questions.
