1931 Ford Model A Description

I bought this car in 2013 in Detroit, Mich. from the estate of the gentleman who restored it and toured with it. I have kept it garaged since then and never had it out in rain or snow. I've driven it perhaps 2500 miles in that time.
My understanding is that the restoration was completed in the late 1990s, and the car toured all over the country, until the owner's advancing age made touring difficult.
This car runs and drives better than any Model A I've ever had anything to do with. There is none of the "wander" or shimmy that the Model A is famous for, and the car will run 60 mph all day with no strain. It has never overheated or failed to start. I would characterize the brakes as excellent.
The car has seat belts front and back.
While I have not pulled off the oil pan to verify, the engine appears to be, and was told to me to be, a 1932 B truck engine, which had higher compression, more horsepower, and insert bearings. The only modification I have made was to convert the car back to manual spark advance rather than the automatic advance. I did remove the running board step plates, and the trunk, because I didn't like the way they looked. Both are included with the car. I did move the driver's seat back 3-4 inches because I'm 6' tall. Made it much more comfortable to get in and out.
The car is still the 6 volt system. However, the original generator has been replaced with an alternator.
The car has been equipped with turn signals and running lights, and a third brake light, and the starter is activated by a button on the dash vs. foot operation. All the lights and gauges work properly.
All in all an excellent Model A if you want one to drive or tour in. I would feel good about getting in this car and driving anywhere.
The paint is Elkpointe green over Kewanee green (or maybe it's the other way around) and I do have some touch-up paint for those. There is no rust anywhere on the car that I know of. The interior is LeBaron-Bonney. The top filler panel is excellent and I would guess was replaced when the car was restored. It also appears that all of the glass in the car was replaced.
Clear NC title in my name.
Here are the problems that I'm aware of;
The restoration is showing it's age. The interior has some rubbed edges & splitting seams & etc. which I tried to show in the pictures (note the duct tape on the edge of the seat and on the driver's kick). It is still very presentable and could be repaired with minor effort. The paint on the fenders especially is starred and chipped. The paint on the sides of the car is chipped and/or flaking in places, especially around the doors. The pictures make the paint look better than it really is on the sides and the fenders. The knob on the passenger side window crank is off.
The engine has various drips and weeps, especially from the rear main, as every single Model A I've ever seen has. And, again like every other Model A, it "spits" around the radiator cap some.
The main thing that the car needs at this point is tires. The tires don't leak and and are not cracked, but the tread is about gone.
I do have a video, with sound, of the car running. I can e-mail it upon request.
HERE ARE MY TERMS; this vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, with no guarantee whatsoever. The only exception is that if when the buyer arrives to pick up the car a major mis-description is discovered. In that event I would refund the buyer's deposit...no questions asked. This does NOT include minor cosmetic issues which are common to any old vehicle.
Interested parties are encouraged to come inspect the car in person, or have an inspection service do so. I will facilitate this to the best of my ability.
There is a $500.00 deposit due by verified PayPal within 24 hours of the close of bidding or an accepted offer.
The balance is due within 7 days, and may be by cash on arrival, or by bank-to-bank transfer. I will not accept PayPal for the balance.
I do not consider offers or accept bids from buyers with less than +10 feedback.
I request that all questions be directed through the eBay "ask a question" service. This is for the protection of both buyer and seller. After a sale is concluded I will of course furnish full contact information.
I can hold the car in a dry garage for up to 30 days after full payment is made.
I have a good place to load vehicles, and am experienced in working with shippers.
Invariably, someone will ask me if a vehicle can be driven home. In the case of this Model A I would be comfortable driving it any distance, as long as you are aware of the limitations of an almost 90 year old vehicle.
The only potential trades I would be interested in would be 65-67 LeMans/GTO, or 67 Camaro, driveable. No projects.
