1965 Ford Galaxie GALAXIE 500 Description

UP FOR SALE IS A TRULY UNIQUE AND ONE-OF-A-KIND 65 FORD GALAXIE. THE LICENSE PLATE SAYS IT ALL ON THIS CAR...BIG, MEAN, AND NASTY. THE MILEAGE READS 28,000 ON THE ODO, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS REALLY ON THE CAR. THE ODO STILL TURNS FINE THOUGH. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL MUSCLE CARS OVER THE YEARS, BUT THIS ONE GETS THE MOST LOOKS, PICTURES, VIDEOS, AND THUMBS UP BY FAR. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR 5 YEARS, BUT AM AT A POINT WHERE I NEED TO SELL IT IN ORDER TO INVEST IN MY BUSINESS. I PURCHASED IT FROM A SELLER IN OHIO AND HE HAD DONE ALL OF THE MECHANICAL WORK. MECHANICAL/DRIVE TRAIN:
351 WINDSOR BLOCK COMPLETELY REBUILT. BORED 30 OVER AND STROKED TO MAKE IT A 408 CUBIC INCH. IRON EAGLE INTERNALLY BALANCED 9 TO 1 COMPRESSION ROTATING ASSEMBLY. HOWARD'S HYDRAULIC ROLLER CAM AND ROLLER LIFTERS. TRICK FLOW 2:02 ALUMINUM HEADS, SUPERCHARGERS USA 671 BLOWER, AND 2 PIECE MANIFOLD. HOLLY 870 BUILT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE MOTOR BY C&J ENGINEERING IN CALIFORNIA AND THE SCOOP IS BY ALS BLOWERS OUT OF NEW ZEALAND.
IT HAS A MALLORY DISTRIBUTOR AND WIRES AND A MANUAL FUEL PUMP THAT PULLS FUEL THROUGH A 1/2 INCH LINE FROM THE FUEL CELL TO THE PUMP. THE TRANNY IS A C-6 REWORKED WITH EXTRA CLUTCHES AND AN OVER-SIZED SERVO WITH A B&M SHIFT KIT THAT RUNS THROUGH A 3000 STALL SPEED CONVERTER. THE TRANNY ALSO HAS A FLUID COOLER MOUNTED UNDER THE PASSENGER ROCKER RAIL. THE REAR END IS A 4:10 POSI UNIT. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN ON A DYNO, BUT THE PREVIOUS OWNER FELT LIKE IT IS REALISTICALLY PUTTING OUT AROUND 600 HP WITH THE MOTOR BUILD AND BLOWER. INTERIOR:
NEW UPHOLSTERY FRONT AND REAR. NEW DOOR PANELS FRONT AND REAR. NICE CUSTOM FLOOR MATS (FRONT). NEW HEADLINER AND CUSTOM GAUGES. THE CAR COMES WITH A $1400 CUSTOM GAUGE CLUSTER FROM DAKOTA DIGITAL (SEE PICS) IT JUST NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED. CUSTOM DOOR HANDLES AND CRANKS. NEW CARPET. CONSOLE IS COMPLETE AND WORKS AND LOOKS GREAT. THE CHROME HAS SOME PITTING, BUT STILL LOOKS VERY NICE. ALL OF THE WINDOWS WORK FINE, BUT THE FRONT TWO ARE STARTING TO WEAR. DASH PAD LOOKS GOOD, BUT REALLY SHOULD BE REDONE TO FINISH THE INTERIOR. I WAS GOING TO HAVE THE CUSTOM DASH AND DASH PAD DONE AT THE SAME TIME TO COMPLETE THE INTERIOR. BILLET REAR VIEW MIRROR. NEW GLOVE BOX LINER AND LIGHT. THERE IS A SMALL DENT IN THE METAL DASH BY THE ASHTRAY..IT HASN'T CHIPPED OR CRACKED THE PAINT AND IS PRETTY HARD TO SEE. IT WAS THERE WHEN I GOT THE CAR, SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED IT?? IN MY OPINION, THE ONLY THING THE CAR REALLY NEEDS TO FINISH IT IS INSTALLING THE CUSTOM GAUGE CLUSTER AND INSTALLING A BETTER QUALITY DASH.
EXTERIOR:
NEW VINYL TOP. NEW PAINT LAST YEAR. WINDOW TINT. CUSTOM TUBULAR GRILL. SMOOTHED AND PAINTED BUMPERS. ALL TRIM AND SCRIPT REMOVED. GAS FUEL DOOR FILLED AND SMOOTHED. SMOOTHED OPENING FOR BLOWER. THE CAR IS COMPLETELY RUST FREE. THE CAR IS INCREDIBLY STRAIGHT AND ALL OF THE GAPS LOOK GREAT AS WELL. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IS NEW AND ALL OF THE CHROME HAS BEEN REPLACED OR RE-PLATED. ALL OF THE STAINLESS TRIM HAS BEEN STRAIGHTENED AND POLISHED TO LOOK NEW AGAIN.
WHEELS AND TIRES:
TSW WHEELS FRONT AND REAR. DOUBLE STAGGERED SET UP. 18X8 IN FRONT AND 20X10 IN THE REAR. THE TIRES ARE FALKEN 235 40 18 AND 275 35 ZR 20. THEY ONLY HAVE ABOUT A 1000 MILES ON THEM. THE WHEEL LIPS WERE CUSTOM PAINTED TO MATCH THE CAR. THEY HAVE CUSTOM PAINTED ALUMINUM SPIKED LUG NUT CAPS WITH BLACK ALUMINUM LUG NUTS. THE PUNISHR CENTER CAP IS A STICK ON CAP OVER THE FACTORY TSW ONES.
SUSPENSION:
COMPLETELY REBUILT FRONT END. NEW STEERING BOX AND RAG JOINT. NEW POWER STEERING PUMP PAINTED RED TO MATCH THE CAR. OVER-SIZED SWAY BARS FRONT AND REAR (1 1/8" I BELIEVE). 3 INCH CUSTOM DROP SPRINGS IN THE FRONT AND 1.5 INCH CUSTOM REAR SPRINGS. QA1 REAR SHOCKS. THE CAR HAS A VERY NICE SUBTLE RAKE AND STANCE.

BRAKES:
SSBC FRONT AND REAR COMPLETE DISC KIT. CUSTOM PAINTED CALIPERS TO MATCH THE CAR. DRILLED AND SLOTTED ROTORS. POWER BRAKES WITH DUEL RESERVOIR. CUSTOM PAINTED RESERVOIR.
EXHAUST:
HEDMAN CERAMIC COAT HEADERS WITH 3 INCH EXHAUST WELDED ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK (NO CLAMPS) AND FINISHED WITH 18 INCH STAINLESS STEEL TIPS. FLOW MASTER SUPER 40 MUFFLERS. KINDIGIT ELECTRIC EXHAUST CUTOUTS...THESE SOUND AWESOME. THE SWITCH FOR THE CUTOUTS IS LOCATED UNDER THE DASH. I DIDN'T MOUNT IT IN THE DASH BECAUSE I WAS PLANNING TO HAVE THE CUSTOM DAKOTA DIGITAL DASH INSTALLED.
ELECTRICAL:
CUSTOM LED TAIL LIGHTS, FRONT TURN SIGNALS, AND RED HALO-RING HEADLIGHTS. EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT ON THE CAR EXCEPT THE FUEL GAUGE. IT RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING, BUT I HAVEN'Y WORRIED ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT WILL BE REPLACED WITH THE GAUGE IN THE CUSTOM DASH. CHROME ALTERNATOR.
COOLING/HEAT:
GRIFFIN POLISHED ALUMINUM 4 ROW RADIATOR. POLISHED OVERFLOW TANK. CHROME WATER PUMP. ELECTRIC FAN WITH THE SWITCH RIGHT BY THE IGNITION. THE CAR RUNS 190-200 DEGREES ON THE HOTTEST DAYS. THERE IS NO HEATER SYSTEM IN THE CAR. THE PREVIOUS OWNER REMOVED IT ALL, IN ORDER TO SMOOTH THE FIREWALL, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE DRIVING THIS CAR ON ANY COLD WINTER DAYS.
RUBBER/SEALS:
ALL OF THE RUBBER AND WEATHERSTRIPPING HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE DOORS HAVE NEW FELT KITS. ALL OF THE RUBBER BUMPERS AND PLUGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. INCLUDING THE VERY SMALL STUFF LIKE FOR THE GLOVE BOX AND ASH TRAY. THE TRUNK HAS A 15 GALLON FUEL CELL IN IT AND A FULL CUSTOM CARPET KIT. THERE IS NO STEREO SYSTEM IN THE CAR. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT PUTTING ONE IN, BUT HONESTLY ENJOY LISTENING TO THE BLOWER/EXHAUST MORE.
