1965 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck 1965 Used Automatic
1965 Ford F-100 Description
Trucks have always been desirable, and people get attached to them, because they are tough, reliable, workhorses that serve their owners well. When they get older, they also become desirable for their vintage good looks as well as all those other reasons. On top of that, they can be downright affordable alternatives to new ones. Check out this F-100 and see if it hits that sweet spot of Classic, capable, and affordable that fits your needs. The medium blue paint on this truck really shows off the curves and lines of the body nicely. It's not such a fancy show stopping paint job that you would be afraid to use it for actual work, but you will still look good rolling down the boulevard or into a parking lot on cruise night. A chrome bumper leads the way with an eggcrate grill and a hood ornament with a gear and lightning bolt. The hood rolls gently over to a polished strip of stainless that runs down the length of the truck. There's a Ford 100 emblem of the fender that literally creates a Blue Oval against the blue paint, and stylized flairs accent the fender wells. Custom Cab appears on the top edge of the door, and the rear fenders also get a flair that trails off to the back bumper. There are a couple chrome exhaust tips sticking out from under that bumper and the bed is dressed for work with a painted wood bed liner and a newer fuel door and trim. Open the door and step inside and you will find a good-looking interior with minimal wear. There is a big comfortable bench seat with plenty of room for three people that is upholstered nicely in blue leatherette. The top of the dash is also covered in the same manner, and even the headliner gets the upholstered treatment. That should make for a much quieter ride than this custom cab truck originally had. A beefy aftermarket steering wheel is mounted on a chrome 3-spoke center and feels good in your hands. There is a column shifter for the automatic transmission along with an Equus tachometer. The original aluminum dash panel has the stock speedometer in the center with new Stewart Warner gauges for oil pressure and fuel, and under the dash are gauges for voltage and water temp. Off to the right is an aftermarket radio/CD player for your listening pleasure. Now pop the hood for the real treat in this truck. You will find a 429-cubic inch powerhouse that will haul or pull anything you ask it to without breaking a sweat. Even if that means hauling down the strip on a Friday night. There is a chrome air topper and chrome valve covers adding a splash of flash to the engine bay. A Mr. Gasket fuel pressure regulator feeds a Holley 4-barrel carburetor which handles the fuel mixing duties, while an Edelbrock Performer 460 intake handles the distribution job. New plugs, wires and a Flame Thrower ignition coil assure a good spark, and long tube headers get the spent gases out efficiently. From there they are sent downstream through a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and make sweet sounds coming out those dual exhaust tips. The truck sits on deep dish alloy wheels with 235/75R15 tires front and rear. Come on down and check this good looking, Classic, capable, and affordable F-100. You may decide that it's just the truck you have been needing.
