1960 Ford F-250 Flareside Factory 4x4 Brush Truck - Michigan Fire Truck
1960 Ford F-250 Description
This is a 1960 Ford F250. Factory 4WD. 292 Y block. T-98A transmission. Dana/Spicer model 24 transfer case. Dana 60 and Dana 44. Odometer reads 25,079 miles, and I believe this to be correct. Partial build sheet, which was still under the seat, showing the vin. Important numbers match. Originally from a department in the Hastings, Plainwell, Delton, Orangeville Michigan area (can read remnants of stickers on the dash). I've always been partial to old Chevy's, but this is without a doubt the baddest ass rig I have ever come across. Hasn't been on the road in 10 years or so. I haven't tried to get her running, or even done much else with it yet. She's just as I received her. Even with unlimited funds, You can't just go buy another one of these, because this is more than likely the only one on the planet. No kidding, check it out. Ford made less than 900 of these 4WD F-250 Flareside trucks in 1960 (out of a total of over 100,000 trucks built), and then add in the fact that it was a special order vehicle to be outfitted as a brush truck, and there You go. I can't even find another 1960 F-250 Flareside 4 wheel drive in any configuration on the internet (not even a clone) after over 100 hours of looking. Missing the water tank and crankshaft driven pump (long gone, but appropriate replacements can be fairly easily procured). Some rust, but pretty solid overall. Typical lower fender, front outer corners of cab floors mostly, which patch panels are available for. I do have the original fire extinguisher stanchions, auxiliary steps that go over the flairs, loudspeaker, breather, and a few other items. Carb tag-FoMOCo, series: BBT; type:0AA; date:L; Airhorn: 062; C0TE-9510-C; List 2011. Needs to go to someone who will do her justice, and has the desire and means to take care of whatever is necessary. Open to offers (will set up a bin through eBay). Thank You.
