1973 Ford Torino Description
1973 Gran Torino Sport, ower steering, ower brakes, umbers matching 429 cubic inch 4 barrel, utomatic transmission, ucket seats, enter console, agnum 500 wheels, aser stripe, actory tach, actory rear sway bar. This car is a barn find survivor out of Virginia. This two owner car was last officially on the road in 1987.Approximatelytwo years ago the previous owner found the car in a barn and purchased the car from the family of the original owner. The car retains its original paint which presents well from 10 feet but is full of patina on close inspection. Very minimal rust in the passenger quarter and drivers door, here are also several small dents but so sign of major damage. All the glass is very nice, he trim is nice, he chrome is good. Everything on the car works except the clock. The interior presents well but has faded some, ould use carpet and the drivers arm rest is worn. The dash is perfect.
The car has had the following work done by the previous owner; carb. was replaced with an aftermarket Holly, uel pump was replaced, ew wheel cylinders and brake linings on the rear, ew brake pads on the front, ew radial tires, nd a general tune up. I performed the following work; installed a new aluminized dual exhaust system. new chrome tips, ew magnum 500 wheels, ew power steering lines, ew KYB gas shocks on front and rear, urchased and installed an original air cleaner.
The car runs great, rives like new and stops like it should. This car could be enjoyed as it sits. This is a very original car that could be shown in a survivor or preservation class. Or if you don't like patina this would be an very solid, asy restoration candidate. This car looks awesome with the bright red paint and laser stripe set off by the chrome magnum 500 wheels. This is a rare car with 939 produced in 1973. A 1973 Gran Torino Sport with a 429 engine sold at a Mecum auction for 29G in 2014. I have the build sheet and the Marti report.
