1935 Ford 5-Window Coupe Description

Pro-built streetrods come in two flavors: fiberglass and steel. The ones that serious collectors choose to own are those made of metal, like this 1935 Ford 5-Window Coupe. a fuel injected 454 cubic inch V8, loaded with options and beautifully finished inside and out, this recently completed show-stopper is ready for the trophy circuit. Steel adds value, and while the fiberglass makers have come a long way, most custom builders prefer the hard stuff whenever... they can get it, so this one features a metal body that's been chopped, smoothed, massaged, and updated for a truly trick look. It's still unmistakably a 1935 Ford, even bathed in that incredible two-tone paint job with custom barbed wire pinstriping. The timeless Art-Deco shape of the '35 Ford never goes out of style, but the details that make this car especially stand-out include the sloping chopped roof, custom widened grille, smoothed fenders, shaved handles and hinges, and seamless body-integrated taillights. Panel gaps are exact and the doors close with a solid sound that no fiberglass body can match. Take a step back and look at the dramatic yet subtle craftsmanship all over this streetrod and you'll quickly gain an appreciation for this fantastic Ford. Tradition was tossed aside for the interior as well, where the deeply sculpted bucket seats are upholstered in tan leather with suede inserts. The original hardware was replaced in favor of a smoothed and leather wrapped '40 Ford dash, integrated with a trio of new Haneline gauges and an underdash A/C panel. Custom-built door panels share the same beautiful upholstery as the seats and the theme continues to the rear where the backseat area houses an epic speaker system, all powered by a Sony CD player neatly integrated into the custom headliner. R134a A/C, a polished tilt steering column, remote entry, and a power trunk are all part of the package. The glimmering shine of the Budnick steering wheel, Lokar shifter, and billet accessories provide just enough contrast to make the whole cockpit pop. The trunk is also as beautifully finished as the interior, with all the working parts hidden behind the fabricated panels. Powering this gorgeous rod is a thunderous 454 cubic inch V8 backed by a built TH400 automatic transmission. Clearly built to show off, the potent powerplant packs a punch where it matters, aided by a Comp cam, roller rockers, 9.75:1 pistons, and an MSD fuel injection kit. There's enough polished aluminum and chrome for a fleet of lesser rods, along with an awesome custom air cleaner. Power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes make it a pleasure to drive, and the A/C uses modern R134a refrigerant, so it's reliable as well as gorgeous. To upgrade the ride to modern standards, a Heidts tubular front suspension and coilovers were installed, while a Ford 9" rear is in the back along with Carrera adjustable shocks. The stainless Borla dual exhaust system sounds wonderful out of the rear turndowns and the whole chassis has been detailed for show to match the body and paint work. It rides on Billet Specialties wheels with 17s in front and 20s in back to give it some rake. Totally sorted, totally gorgeous, and totally state-of-the-art, this streetrod really packs a pretty punch. And with only 561 miles on the build, you could be the first one to really show it off.
