1968 Ford Mustang Coupe (289 V8, 4 bbl carb)
1968 Ford Mustang Coupe Description
I have a 1968 Mustang Coupe for sale, it runs and drives but is a project due to rust on the underside and some rust on the rear quarter panels, doors, wheel wells, etc... It has all the original quarter panels, hood, trunk, rockers, inner fenders. The odometer has flipped and it has approx 112,000 miles. It needs a complete new exhaust and the (2) rear frame rails are shot and will need to be replaced. I have a brand new dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and (2) rear frame rails that were purchased from CJ Pony Parts to go with the sale of the car.
There is a hole in the trunk on the driver's side (see pic), the torque boxes are shot and need to be replaced. I will also sell a new replacement section for the drivers side trunk as well as (1) new right and (1) new left torque boxes. The front section floor pans need to be replaced but the rear floor pans appear to have been replaced at some point. The rockers and shock towers look to be ok. I was told that it has the original 289 (V-8) engine with a not original (3) speed automatic transmission and the Holley (4) barrel carb is not the original but has been rebuilt this past winter. It does need a tune up as it is running rough when it's in gear.
It also has some "GT" options with side scoops and GT wheels. It has newer tires, an aluminum radiator fan, oil cooler, master cylinder, brake lines, some new hoses, new battery, new gas tank, it also has power steering from the factory but manual drum brakes. The dash pad looks great with no cracks, the electrical works, the carpet looks ok, the seats are from an 80's Mustang and are in good condition but I have the black period correct 51 year old black vinyl front and rear seats that look great. The black vinyl top is nice with no rips or tears, all the glass is intact and the windows crank up and down.
I have almost $1,000 in new parts that I am including with the sale. I have a clean green Michigan title.
I have described my Mustang to the best that I can but please feel free to come look at it before you buy. I don't have time to do a project so selling as is, just seeing if someone would want to restore her to her original beauty. If you have any questions, please call two four eight, 420-3397 or email me denalen4111@yahoo.com Thanks for looking.
