1968 Ford Country Sedan Description

Up for auction is a 1968 FORD Country Sedan station wagonthat is in the process of being restored. My restoration person's lease expired and will likely delay completion of the project for several monthsuntil he can locate a new shop, set up and get re-established. All said and done, I decided to see if I can pass this project on tosomeone who might wantto finish up a car that has outstanding potential. The car has not been on the road for any real use since October 2006--it's been started, moved, etc., but that's about all.
The frame is in very good shape. The doors, hood and two-way tailgate align very well. The auction includes patch panels for the lower left and right quarter panels. Three floor pans have already been installed and the remaining one is in good shape. I have the original Country Sedan grille and the Country Squire/LTD-style grille with flip up headlight covers shown in the pictures--the buyer has the choice of grilles.
The interior is in reasonably good shape (see photos). The headliner is fine, the dash is also OK with some work needed to repair cracks on the dash pad. The back seats and rear well seats are leather and in good shape. The front seat will require some stitching and repairs. We have the carpet and it appears to be in good shape after it gets a cleaning. The headliner is also in very good shape. All of the glass is free of cracks, stars and chips. The lower right side of the passenger windshield has a small area where there is awhite hue and notparticularly noticeable. The engine runs well. It smokes a little when first started, but my guys are telling me it's a minor fix. We think the car needs brakes even though when it was purchased last August, the seller listed that it had new brakes. The tires and the Crager wheels can be seen in the photos.
The carhas Power Steering, new shocks and a roof rack.
Please review the photographs to see how nice the car can be and to see the hundreds of dollars in parts and hours of laborthat have already been invested in the car. It really isn't far from being in the "home stretch" tobecoming a great classic wagon or cool surfer's ride. My restoration guy is an expert and will gladly discuss any technical questions you may have. Callme first at three oh one, five oh nine, one double-oh five. Let's make a deal! (It must be through eBay though.)
