As far as a little history, from what I have researched and what the 2nd owner has told me, this Van lived in both Studio City and Sonora California all its life. The Van was a dealer Van until sold to the public. While in Studio City a man by the name of Harry Auth purchased the Van 'used' from Galpin Ford on February 23rd in 1967 and used it as a mobile T.V. repair service Van. Somewhere around 1973 Harry also starting working for the Los Angeles Unified School District and helped students seeking careers in the present time T.V. repair service industry.
From what I understand, Harry started a family and later on in life moved up to Sonora, California with his family and his T.V. repair business. Harry had an older daughter by the name of Alexa in which she wanted to start a mobile flower business. The way the story goes, Alexa was an official 'FTD' sales lady with her dealer permit of # 532. Both Alexa and her Dad shared their business names painted on both sides of the Van as a father & daughter service. Special flower deliveries and T.V. repair house calls, Alexa and Harry made many people happy for many many years throughout the community of Sonora, California.
Cool story and cool history but its time to let the Van go, somebody who can use it as a vintage bus with their kids or another T.V. Repair Van or Flower Van or even an advertising piece in front of a Flower Shop?
It would be cool if Alexa found it, I wonder where she is??
Needing a little TLC, this Van is a great driver that gets lots of attention but is looking for a good new home.please ask any questions and or request any photos and I will do my best to answer.
