1971 Ford F-100 Description

1971 Ford F100 Short Bed. This truck is an original 302 2V with 3 on the tree. It has been transformed into a resto/rat rod with an updated drivetrain including a 393 cubic inch ford 351W, TKO 500 5 speed on the floor and a rear mounted Tanks Inc fuel tank with in-tank pump ready for efi. Fuel is plumbed with Earls Vapor Guard efi hose and an Aeromotive regulator which is efi pressure ready with a simple spring change(included). Has shorty headers, MSD ignition and a Demon 750CFM Vacuum Secondary 4 Barrel carb.(Ready for a Holley Sniper efi!)

Engine is a SCAT internally balanced forged rotating assembly in a late model roller cam 351W block topped off with Trick Flow 170cc aluminum heads and roller rocker arms. The cam is a Lunati PN 51018 hydraulic roller camshaft. I bought the motor used out of a running Fox mustang. I cleaned, inspected and resealed the motor. I pulled one main cap to inspect the bearings. They looked great and are obviously high quality.(see pic) The heads appear to have been mildly ported/gasket matched. The Tremec TKO 500 has a 26 Spline input shaft and is installed with a new PRW flywheel and performance clutch. The factory mechanical clutch linkage was replaced with a clutch cable kit from Modern Driveline.

New aluminum radiator, alternator, water pump, fan, and serpentine drive. Has late model gear reduction starter installed. New Battery and cables. Fuel pump installed on dedicated 30 Amp relay. MSD 6A ignition with MSD billet Distributor.

The body is all original and has beautiful “patina”. While the panels do have some rust the frame and structure of the truck is excellent. Bed is the worst and could use some patch panels. The doors are solid. As the pics show some minor rust was repaired in the floorpan including a small patch and some fiberglass over very minor pinholes. A factory high hump transmission hump was installed to accommodate the Tremec TKO 5 speed. The transmission has the mid-shift shifter location to function properly with a bench seat. Grille and other panels were disassembled for paint and are only held in place currently. Dash is also disassembled. Most trim and hardware is boxed and included. Also have two new door weatherstrips. Buyers choice to leave patina or do new paint and finish interior to your preference.

All four wheels have been off. Bearings have been inspected and repacked. New master cylinder and one two hard lines. Brakes are bled and work great! Rear end appears to be the stock 9 inch with 3.25 open differential. Driveshaft was shortened, new u-joints installed and balanced. I have driven the truck in the neighborhood but should be trailered as it does not have exhaust installed and tires are marginal.

Needs:

Exhaust (comes with two new 20 inch Turbo Mufflers)

Reassembly or paint

Interior finished

Shocks/Suspension (Lower?)

Tires are old and weathered (wheel and tire package)

Could use a new set of plug wires and loom to buyers preference

Fan Shroud

These short bed F100 trucks are hard to find in decent condition. This one has a modern driveline already installed. Tons of power and the ability to cruise on the highway with the 5 speed overdrive. Truck is listed at the value of the parts installed. You get the truck and all of the labor for free. Do the math and try to build this truck for anywhere near this cost!! I am selling to focus on my 66 Mustang project.

Truck is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for local sale.

I have a clear VA title in my name in hand
