1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback Description

This 1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback is a restored coupe that gives you some fantastic upgrades (like the A/C interior and five-speed) while retaining the best original pieces (like the correct S-code V8) So have a closer look at one head-turning total package.

Acapulco Blue isn't just a cool name for your paint, but also this year-correct color looks nice thanks to a professional respray (the original color was Presidential Blue according to the Marti Report). There's less than 4,400 miles on this one since its restoration so not only does the paint look fantastic, but so does all that shining brightwork like the bumpers, rockers, and taillight bezels. This has the terrific GT look done correctly with the fog lights in the grille, full GT badging (including the gas cap,) premium GT wheel covers. And while a fastback Mustang will always have appeal, you should take the time to really see the quality that went into the restoration. It's evident everywhere you look: from the way the doors close with authority to the turn signals within the Deluxe hood.

The two-tone blue inside coordinates so nicely with the exterior paint. So this blue car has the full blue look inside & out of a tropical ocean... and that's the way this one was born! And just like the exterior, there was a solid investment inside to keep it looking and feeling fresh. This has the right classic features you want, like two low-back buckets up front and the GT's fold-down rear seat. Plus, there are some great upgrades for everyone, like the air conditioning blowing cold with modern R134a. But the best treats are reserved just for the driver. The wood-rimmed steering wheel feels grippy in your hands (power steering), and beyond that is a full set of upgraded Classic Instruments gauges with large speedo and tach (the original gauge cluster also comes with the sale.) And have you counted the gears on the stick shift yet?

This one was born with an ultra-desirable S-code 390 cubic-inch motor, and so it's great have that mighty V8 still under the hood. In fact, it's a date-correct block and topped with a correct Autolite four-barrel carburetor. And this received plenty of attention during the restoration, so the whole presentation is crisp and clean. The motor fires up eagerly, and it makes a terrific sound. You understand why when you look at the undercarriage photos. They upgraded this with long tube headers that feed an X-pipe Magnaflow dual exhaust. And you control this power and rumbling soundtrack better than the factory car ever could thanks to the upgrade to a Borg Warner five-speed manual transmission. Plus, with disc brakes in the front and traction bars in the rear, this is a well-done total package.

This is the restored Mustang that was built for driving. So if you want all eyes on you, you need to be driving this fastback pony car. Call today!!!
