The last of the turbocharged engines made at the Kentucky plant before Ford switched to the first generation Powerstroke. Many would argue it’s a better motor then the first generation Powerstroke. For increased horsepower and performance, an intercooler can be added to the turbocharger.

Air Conditioning: AC still does not work despite replacing the compressor, orifice tube and dryer.

Camper Shell: The camper shell has cracks and does not lock properly, easy to remove.
Headliner: Completely gone.
Power Windows: Driver’s side window does not always work, seems to be either intermittent connection issue which could be an intermittent open in the wiring. Passenger side window has to be helped up.
Spare Tire: Full size spare tire is included although the tire should be replaced before use.The under-bed spare tire holder is not factory configuration, it was pieced together from parts from other versions of Ford trucks.
Tailgate: The tailgate does not open properly, you have to reach into the cavity and directly pull on the rod. The broken plastic clips need to be replaced.
Tires: Both front tires were recently replaced.
Trailer Brake Controller: Does not have a trailer brake controller.
Transmission: The transmission blows a fuse if left plugged in when the engine is started or stopped. To avoid this, after you start the motor you must install the transmission fuse which is located in the driver's side engine compartment. Before shutting the key off you must remove the transmission fuse. Unless you install the transmission fuse after you start the engine and remove the fuse prior to turning engine off it will blow the fuse. It's possible the solenoid for overdrive and second gears need to be replaced which could easily be a $700 repair.

Water Pump: Leaks and needs to be replaced.
