1972 Ford Mustang Description

. UP FOR AUCTION IS MY VERY RARE 1972 FORD MUSTANG “R” CODE 351 H.O. CAR WITH 96,093 MILES. THIS CAR IS JUST 1 OF 336 BUILT, EVER, TO CARRY AN “R” CODE DESIGNATION IN 1972. ACCOMPANIED WITH THE SALE IS A DELUXE MARTI REPORT. THIS POWERTRAIN WAS THE HIGHEST HP MUSTANG OF 1972 351/275 COBRA JET. THIS CAR IS THE FOLLOWUP TO THE HIGHLY DESIRABLE BOSS 351 OF 1971. THIS CAR IS POWERED BY THE NON ORIGINAL, BUT DATED & CORRECT, D2AE-CA 351 COBRA JET BLOCK AND TOP LOADED 4-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE IS EQUIPPED WITH MANY EXPENSIVE & CORRECT COMPONENTS: INTAKE D1ZX-9425-0A, CARBURETOR AUTOLITE 4300 SPREAD BORE CARBURETOR, DUAL POINT DISTRIBUTOR D30F 12127, ORIGINAL AIR CLEANER, CORRECT REV LIMITER, 3.91 TRACTION-LOK 9” REAR DIFFERENTIAL, COMPETITION SUSPENSION WITH STAGGERED REAR SHOCKS, AND 15” MAGNUM 500 WHEELS WRAPPED WITH GOODYEAR POLYGLAS GT TIRES, CORRECT BF GOOFRICH SPACE SAVER SPARE WITH JACK . RAM AIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE 351 HO CARS, BUT THEY DID ADAPT A “FRESH AIR DUCT” FROM A DUCT UNDER THE BATTERY DIRECTLY TO THE AIR CLEANER, WHICH IS STILL IN TACT. THIS CAR WAS VERY WELL RESTORED, IN IT’S ORIGINAL COLOR, BRIGHT RED AND IN IT’S ORIGINAL VERMILION KNIT VINYL INTERIOR. THIS 351 H.O. WAS SOLD NEW AT LANDVATTER MOTORS INC. IN ABERDEEN, IDAHO ON 5/16/72. FACTORY OPTIONS INCLUDE TRACTION-LOK REAREND, F60X15 BELTED RAISED WHITE LETTER TIRES, POWER STEERING, AM/FM RADIO, CENTER CONSOLE, MACH 1 SPORTS INTERIOR OPTION, TINTED GLASS, AND MAGNUM 500 WHEELS. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES VERY NICE, SHIFTS AS IT SHOULD AND DRIVES STRAIGHT. IT DOES NOT SMOKE AND RUNS STRONG. THE RESTORATION HAS HELD UP VERY VERY NICE. THE PAINT QUALITY IS AMAZING, NO BUBBLES OR RUST SHOWING THROUGH. THERE IS A SCRATCH ON THE ROOF THAT IS VERY HARD TO SEE, HARDLY NOTICEABLE. THE RADIO, WIPERS, GUAGES, SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, ETC.. ALL WORK. INTERIOR LIGHTS ARE ALSO ALL FUNCTIONAL. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS SOLID & UNDERCOATED, ALL METAL LOOKS TO BE FACTORY. IT HAS THE CORRECT “N” DESIGNATION ON THE PUMPKIN OF THE REAR END ALSO. YOU WILL NOT FIND A NICER 351 H.O. CAR ON THE MARKET, IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND ANOTHER FOR SALE. THEY ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT ONE OF THE RAREST PERFORMANCE MUSTANGS EVERY BUILT
