1958 Ford F-350 Description

Ford F-350 (I think) . GVW 16,000. Condition is Used hard. Plywood sides and particle board bed floor. Stake bed is about 7 feet wide and 14 feet long. Stake sides are 4 feet tall with chains and hooks that pull the sides together. This engine is a replacement engine put in by a Cottage Grove, Oregon mechanic about 30 years ago. Radiator is brand new for this truck, put in a few years ago. This has the crossover exhaust which is usually busted. This one is in good shape including an exhaust thermostat. It was the engine for the parts wagon at the Cottage Grove Mechanic's shop. Brakes are new all the way around including emergency brake. Brake and Clutch cylinders are both used but new to this truck and a little on the leaky side. The brake lines are naturally very long. The PTO may need to be disconnected to transport the truck if you want to drive it. I have used this truck to move several times over the years since I bought it about 30 years ago. It used to have no trouble doing 55 mph and it could carry MASSIVE loads, including several (like 12-14) cubic yards of wet manure on several occasions, including up a very steep driveway. A mechanic who did hopped up custom show cars said the front grille alone was worth $650, but that was 20 years ago. This truck is old but tough! It would probably be best to transport it on a large trailer rather than try to fix it here and drive it home. Personally I think its destiny is to be chopped down, have the dump unit removed, and made into a REALLY big flat bed truck. Removing the dump frame and cylinder would lower the bed a foot and the weight by tons. It already has gigantic semi-sized wheels on it and the tires hold air. Lights, brights, wipers, and window winders all need some work. Condition is pretty rugged but not too bad when you consider it has been outside for most of its life and it is 62 years old. Truck has hardly been driven at all since I moved to my current home. Message me for any questions.
